University of Texas at Arlington (Department of Bioengineering) Aug 2014-May 2016

Design of a home use immunosensor for the detection of Osteoporosis: Designed a home-use Biosensor for the detection of Osteoporosis in post-menopausal women. The sensor could predict the risk of having Osteoporosis by detecting the levels of CTx, a bone biomarker, in the blood.

Effect of music genre on brain waves of non-musicians: This project investigated the changes in the brain wave pattern by making the subjects listen to different music genres and recording their EEG. The results indicated that alpha and beta waves are significantly affected by different music genres. Conclusions were made on hypothesis testing and graphical comparisons.

Behavior of Curcumin loaded PNIPAM-Chitosan nanogels below and above its LCST

Prepared Chitosan–PNIPAM nanogels combining the advantages of both Chitosan and PNIPAM. Investigated and analyzed thermally responsive drug releasing behaviors from curcumin-loaded nanogels. Performed stability studies of prepared nanogels.

Security and Surveillance System

Developed a GSM and MATLAB based intruder detection system for indoor security. The project involved microcontroller programming in assembly language for PIC 18F452, programming in MATLAB for video processing, designing and implementing electrical circuits, PCB designing and implementation, device testing and troubleshooting.

Thyristorized Current Controller

Developed a microcontroller based system which controlled the heat intensity of the load by adjusting the power of the set blocking angle of the thyristor.
