CANDIDATE SUMMARY – Bilingual data scientist with international perspective and very strong statistical skills. Familiarity with all major data analytics programming packages and machine learning techniques.
WORK EXPERIENCE
Data Application Lab, Los Angels, CA Fall 2016
Data Scientist Trainee
Collected game inventory of 5000 steam users and 500 games details by writing python data crawler through official web API.
Filtered the results by selecting the categories of interest to further refine the recommendation results and imported to mysql database.
Analyzed the user’s game playing history and recommended each user 10 new games basing on the popularity-based recommendation algorithm.
Designed the user interaction interface to display the product.
Allied Millennial Partners, LLC, New York, NY Summer 2016
Financial Summer Analyst
Performed regular reports and sensitivity analysis on the major financial indexes in the world.
Created website coding with HTML.
Analyzed and compared world financial market and economic indicators predicting interest rates using R programming
Neusoft Corporation, Beijing, China Summer 2014
Data Analyst Summer Intern
Presented a new statistical report by integrating industrial statistical indexes.
Collaborated with research data scientists to analyze and evaluate processes to improve productivity.
Analyzed production of client companies in Beijing and visualized reports by using statistical software R-studio.
PROJECT EXPERIENCE
Database Project-College cost and tuition comparison web based tool to help make decision Fall 2016
Collected dataset from web and built the database using MYSQL
Draw entity relationship diagram and relational database schema, getting a complete logic relation for team to implement next step.
Defined the user interface and built web based application to the database which provides a comparison tool for perspective college students.
Data Structure-A friendship search program helping to explore new friends Spring 2014
Implemented algorithms for graphs that represent student friendships and enable students to find friends based on individuals’ name and name of the school by using Java.
Created a Friendship graph with the Dijkstra’s algorithm to find the shortest paths between connections of friends.
Improved program’s efficiency by adjusting the data structure after analyzing time complexity.
Highway Accident Rates Regression Modeling-Using regression analysis to predict future accident rates Fall 2015
Analyzed 50 sections of large highways with 11variables to evaluate highway accident rates across the state of Minnesota using statistical software R
Visualized the spatial distribution between any two variables through scatterplot matrices examining the collinearity and estimating the best fitted model using backward regression methods.
Validated the models by analyzing a statistical values of each single reduced model.
