I) Data Analyst - Intern

Responsibilities Included

Volunteering as a Data Analyst in noschoolviolence.org, helping them build a Proof of Concept(POC), which performs elastic search on the database to bring out, school violence that has been reported in the United States. This tool is being built to provide awareness on how many of such school violence actually affect the wellbeing and its impact and also perform a predictive analysis on such occurrences by expert guidance. The web application relies on the Elastic stack in a number of ways.

Indexed a collection of research documents relating to school violence in an Elastic Search node

Used the score-weighted fuzzy match rate from the index to estimate the riskiness of various forms of school violence based on user’s search terms.

The Django app interfaces with the Elastic Search index using the elastic search-py client

Elastic Search index time search-as-you-type for autocomplete.

Kibana to explore data and help configure index

Evaluating Beats and Logstash for the app as we develop our data pipeline and logging capabilities.

II) Project in Data Science

UCLA Jun ‘16 - Aug ‘16

Tools & Technology: Machine Learning with R, Ideologies – Linear Regression

The project was to perform a predictive analysis on climate change and global warming which is the phenomenon of rising average temperature of Earth climate system.

Responsibilities Included

Our team focused on studying this issue as a data scientist and predicts the temperature until 2050 using ideologies from Machine Learning and R, Linear Regression with the existing climate data from 1850 to 2013.

Data was collected from Kaggle.com

Data was cleaned and tidied to remove any unwanted information to build a model

Once the training set was ready, data was used to derive models using Linear Regression

3,4 and 9 piece-wise regression was performed to obtain desired results.

Reporting was done in Tableau

III) Web Developer

Responsibilities Included

Monitor incidents that get logged in DLP, analyze the sensitivity of the data that was breached, and communicate to concerned stakeholders involved in the breach to understand their intention as a part of Risk and Compliance Team.

Worked with support teams, HR and Legal for corrective and preventive actions and on reducing false positives by scripting and tracking, also highlighting them at the appropriate time.
