Leading Marketing Firm
To Whom It May Concern:
As a first year environmental studies student with a focus on environmental management at York University, I am constantly searching for new opportunities to gain experience, challenge myself, and find a strong cultural fit with an employer. After researching many different opportunities, I was drawn to the Summer Student position with Leading Marketing Firm. It is apparent to myself that Leading Marketing Firm values integrity, a component that I strive to uphold in all my academic and professional work.
The Summer Student position requires organizational, interpersonal, observational and analytical skills, aspects I have developed throughout my studies at York University. I am constantly challenged to think critically when developing hypotheses and conducting fieldwork. Extensive literature reviews pertaining to current environmental affairs linked to policy, ecology, arts, health and conservation have allowed me to advance my professional knowledge. Conducting fieldwork by performing systematic tree sampling followed by inputting data into excel spreadsheets and conducting calculations to determine tree species diversity has enhanced my knowledge and analytical skills.
I have developed many abilities that have allowed me to succeed, many of which have been advanced throughout the past four years as a Sales Associate at Sport Chek. I am tasked with delivering exemplary customer service, while dealing with time sensitive documents. This requires excellent verbal communication, to provide product and service knowledge across a variety of departments. Initiative to improve interpersonal skills is critical to maximize team efficiency. The ability to collaborate effectively with others has contributed to my experience. This position has allowed me to advance my knowledge, communication, and technical skills.
Each of these experiences have forced me to step out of my comfort zone, and develop my adaptability and problem solving skills to perform above expectations. These opportunities, along with passion of the environment, outdoors, athletics and sciences have prepared me to succeed in a Summer Student role with Leading Marketing Firm. As a student who has consistently been involved in athletics and academics, the collaborative environment and high performance standards of Leading Marketing Firm aligns perfectly with what I am searching for in an employer.
Thank you for taking the time to review my application, and please feel free to contact me if you have any further questions.
Sincerely,
Maren Nielsen
