Project Title : Kohls (August 2013 – May 2014)

Skill : Manhattan Associates

Role : Team Lead (Functional Consultant)

Description:

Manhattan’s WMoS v2006 software has been at the core of the warehouse solution implemented in Kohl’s four e-Commerce Fulfillment Centers (EFCs) in Monroe, OH (eFC1), San Bernardino, CA (eFC2), Edgewood, MD (eFC3) and De Soto, TX (eFC4). Previously-used Manhattan Associates Warehouse Management for Open Systems (WMoS) version 2006 and its underlying components are at the end of life and have to be upgraded to a version that will ensure Manhattan continues to provide needed support.

WMoS v2006 increasingly required more modifications to meet Kohl’s growing business and operational needs. Some of the functionality that would have been provided by the modifications is now part of the base v2012 WMoS.

Contribution:

WM configuration is core to the entire scope of Kohl’s upgrade from v2006 to v2012. However, most of the configuration will remain the same with common values, transactions and parameters between v2006 and v2012, while some objects require details that Kohl’s Business and Operations already possess and maintain. This will allow the Kohl’s project team to coordinate with their internal IT teams to get database copies between the old and new versions of WM as a matter of expediency while reducing risks from errors.

Accenture’s role to configure core WM functionality is greatly reduced as initially stated in the SOW (except for Printing setup, which is reviewed further below). Other WM configuration will therefore be the purview of the Kohl’s project team). Manhattan will continue to support activities and tasks intended to stabilize the solution.

Previous Organization

Manhattan Associates is the supply chain solutions provider of choice for supply chain leaders around the world for multi-channel retailers, consumer goods manufacturers, pharmaceutical companies, 3PLs and wholesale distributors.

Screens Architecture consists of the following:

Application.xml: Lists all the screens the application has.

Screen.xml: specifies the UI components it has. Each screen consists of multiple UI components.

Each UI component is referred by three xml files: Model.xml, View.xml and Controller.xml. Model.xml specifies the graphics and text data. View.xml specifies the layout for text and images, suggests the fonts, font size, font color, to use to render the text. Controller.xml specifies what has to be done on user events.

Qt/Qtopia Project

6) Project Title : ATLANTIS – UI OFFSHORE (Oct 2007 - Aug 2008)

Language : C++

Application Platform : Qt/Qtopia

Role : Project Engineer

Project Description

MFP UI Team deals with the User Interface (UI) of Multifunctional Peripherals (MFP’s). We are responsible for feature development, bug fixing and enhancement of the UI of the MFP’s. Atlantis UI framework was designed with the aim of separating presentation logic (code determining how to display) from business logic (code determining what to display). This business logic acts as the “glue” layer between the presentation logic and the system firmware – thus, the presentation logic can be replaced without affecting the business logic, or the system firmware.

Testing: Worked as a developer as well as a tester in Atlantis Copy UI Feature. Atlantis is a new architecture which was meant to be implemented for all future products. As the whole code was rewritten using QT Libraries that too utilizing colored bitmap for the first time defect density was predicted to be very high. The product followed Iterative Incremental model, was released in three iterations .I prepared the test cases for this feature., in depth cosmetic testing was carried out for every screen. The main goal was to verify the correctness of the screens and the functionality of the copy application. The copy screens, constraints and PML tag attributes was covered as part of this qualification. Regression, performance, memory leak and Duration testing was also carried out by lead testers.

Contributions to Project:

I have involved in RS, design and implementation of Atlantis UI copy application. To develop backwards-compatible version of copy screens integrated into Atlantis, using Qtopia and in color, following the style guide and screens defined on the WJ2.5 Design Center website and defect fixing and answering the queries to the client.

My major contribution in this application is developing copy screens as well as testing their functionalities by writing proper use cases and also done cosmetic testing by following the exact requirements from the client.
