Also oversee maintenance of ejection systems, fuel storage/distribution systems, Flight controls, landing gears, as well as Aerospace Ground Equipment. Organize and direct the maintenance actions of over 600+ maintainers, ensuring both quality and on schedule delivery of limited resources/equipment and aircraft to the Aircraft Maintenance Unit.
Key Contributions
• Directed all support and preparation for first successful B-52 crash recovery lift in 30 years.
• Discovered bi-annual engine electrical fire trend; provided engineers with actionable data
• Rebuilt Production Supervision section; resulting in 50% reduction in support response times, and improved relationship between flightline and backshops.
• Scheduled use and maintenance of 22 separate facilities valued at over $161M Overhaul Program Manager
Avionics Maintenance Repair - 2015 - 2016
Lead Avionics flight consisting of 25 individuals. Oversee the repair/overhaul of all B-52 avionics and Electronic Countermeasures equipment either removed from aircraft. Manage over $32M in equipment and ensure the quality of new items that arrive in the supply system from contracted organizations Key Contributions
• Successfully orchestrated all aspects of aircraft support, working with foreign military personnel for first Spanish B-52 mission in 25 years
• Guided successful repair contract execution, avoided $3.38M in replacement components.
• Introduced Gemba walks; and proactive approach to maintenance resulting in improved section moral by challenging personnel to find ways to improve tools and procedures. Flightline Production Supervisor
USAF - 2013 - 2015
Manage all flightline scheduled and unscheduled maintenance of C-5M aircraft parked at Dover Air Force Base (AFB), maximizing effectiveness of available resources. To include requests for engineering assistance, modification of the flying schedule, and integration of maintenance efforts between multiple sections. While also ensuring all 350+ personnel assigned to section have the proper training required to meet mission demands. Key Contributions
• Organized test of new C-17 tire Limitation at 2 bases; resulting in increased tire life, saving $8M in fleet maintenance annually
• Built inspection procedures reducing failures found during aircraft launch sequence, improving on time take off rate 30% over 1 year.
• Organized visit by cryogenic system engineers, bringing them together with maintainers. Resulted in early release of new seal design increasing system reliability Lean Six Sigma Facilitator
USAF - 2010 - 2015
Act as Lean Six Sigma consultant/facilitator for entire maintenance complex; Locate and schedule commercial/ on-base lean training for 1600 personnel; Prepare/research/facilitate Lean events- to include 8-step problem solving, Rapid Improvement Events, and 5S projects; Report improvement status to supervision; teach both Lean Awareness and Lean Intermediate courses.
Key Contributions
• Briefed USAF leadership on changes/improvements realized from the upgrade of several aircraft systems.
• Designed/executed experiment with engineering about high tire failure rate, resulting in 100% reduction in premature failures by modifying torque procedures.
• Discovered excessive engine filter failure, determined causes by tracking occurrences over 5 years. Modified maintenance schedule, completely eliminate unscheduled failures. Flying Crew Chief
USAF - 2004 - 2010
Managed all maintenance performed on assigned aircraft for that mission. Diagnosed/Repaired all aircraft systems and equipment in foreign locations, including austere airports and facilities, without qualified assistance.
