Read blueprints, layout for holes, notching; start base assembly, some have several sections. Square up bases before and after welding, then we install floor on base inch thick plates, check proper measurement for cutouts on floor for equip. installment later, then plate is also welded. Plasma cutting, torch cutting, welding flux on all verticals, and mig weld all flat and overhead welds. To perform all this we use cranes, forklifts, after bases are blasted and painted, then we take bases to next dept. where we layout legs and archways so that walls are installed etc. Help grind, clean galvanized steel before any welding is done on next job. Always check everything is done according to procedures.

Job Duties: Weld flat and vertical on majority of jobs. Different metals stainless, chromoly, black steel, 308 & 316 stainless and galvanized materials. Clean up a lot of bad welds. Repair steel that has been cut wrong or short length. Plug holes on materials. Gouge pieces apart to refit. Preheat metals for procedure used for welding at high temperatures above 500 degrees.
