January 2007 – August 2016 Senior QA Engineer.

Worked on a senior level while leading Manual testing for the QA. Used VI and grep to manually search through logs to verify code fixes and to find errors. With the help of DB Visualizer, manually manipulated data in the Oracle DB to test changed code. Ran daily checks on system to verify disk space, system usage, and make sure that all processes are running. Manually changed connections of different storage drives from one server to another for testing. Manually traced any outages and or network drops from the servers. Develop all manual steps and execute for test cases so they could easily be done again in the future. Participated in creating test plans with other groups so that the QA team could test manually. Created test reports to verify all manual testing.

Worked in an Agile environment using Version One. Build, configure, and test Video On Demand business management and delivery systems used by cable television content providers. Testing the conversion of the original back office to the new back office by utilizing Linux bash scripting and Oracle database querying manipulation. Used Oracle for database structure testing within the VOD. Utilizing HTTP video on demand method by using Bash scripting. Performed incremental builds by setting up system using Linux installations, network setup, and bash scripting. Performed small amount of automation test bed by utilizing selenium RC and selenium IDE. Performed initial set top box setup by using the DAC networking system. Setup test cases, test requirements, and test plans by using the TestLink application. Act as a resource for technical writers preparing product documentation as well as provide training to Operations and Product Training. Worked directly with Product and Project management. Track all defects with Bugzilla. Balanced installs, feature tests, defect tests for each software build. Migrated most of the QA Unix test equipment to a new network and troubleshooting VOD pumps and QAMs.

Provided 24x7 global support in a team environment for Video on Demand servers running Solaris and SUSE Enterprise Linux, for customers such as Verizon, Comcast, Charter, and overseas clients. Provided support for proprietary distributed processing VoD software that utilizes DNS, Oracle Database, Glassfish, FTP, CORBA, and JAVA, among a few other applications. Assisted in training new employees, and provided secondary and on-call support for current employees. Also provided documentation of fixes and procedures discovered to share with everyone. Worked as a liaison between hardware vendors for hardware issues, and provided support for software application and OS issues. Also performed procedures such as fine-tuning, patches, and OS/application/firmware upgrades. Wrote and edited BASH scripts when necessary.

Maintain 3 TRU64 UNIX platforms along with several routers and switches. Trouble shoot all possible network issue. Responsible for system performance and managing backups.
