Education

Ph.D. Biochemistry, University of New Hampshire, Durham NH Dec. 2015

M.S. Molecular Biology, Peking Union Medical College, Beijing China Jun. 2010

B.S. Biology, Wuhan University, Wuhan China Jun. 2006

Research Experience

Post-Doc. Research Associate, University of NH, Durham, NH Oct 2016 – present

Structure-based discovery of nematicides targeting phosphodiesterase enzymes in phytoparasitic nematodes

Establishing expression system of human, C. elegans and M. hapla phosphodiesterases (PDE1, PDE3, PDE4 and PDE10), purifying functional PDE proteins for drug binding assays.

Post-Doc. Research Associate, University of NH, Durham, NH Jan 2016 – Oct 2016

Study of polyglutamine toxicity with Huntington’s disease yeast model

Analyzed the property of the discrete polyglutamine aggregates previously found in the model system with a variety of yeast strains.

Prepare and collect data required to the response of the publication currently under review (Wide Distribution Analysis of the samples, frictional ratio calculation and western blotting)

Graduate Research Assistant, University of NH, Durham, NH 2011 – 2015

Study of polyglutamine toxicity with Huntington’s disease yeast model

Discovered a set of soluble discrete polyglutamine aggregates correlated with the toxicity of the prion forming polyglutamine in the model system with Analytical Ultracentrifugation.

Characterize the role in translation of Ribosomal complexes contains SBP1

Discovered the mRNA degradation promoter SBP1 binding to the actively translating mRNP at late elongation/early termination phase. SBP1 is mutually exclusive to most of the translation initiation factors in this complex.

Determined the stoichiometry of several translation factors (eIF4E, eIF4G1, PAB1, etc.) in the actively translating mRNP

Graduate Research Assistant, Peking Union Medical College, Beijing China 2006 – 2010

Constructed HEK293 cell-lines expressing HCV receptors CD81-eGFP and CLDN1-RFP on membrane

Determined the acute toxicity of Single-Wall carbon nanotube to the lung is through cytokine storm triggered by NF- B pathway.
