AFFINION group is one of the Financial Company and its famous for benefits and loyalty programs. I was a part of the UNIX / Linux Administration team responsible for System admin support, administration and virtualization of the servers. Our Environment have both Solaris and RHEL OS with various tools like VMware, vSphere 4.0, HPSA for extensive virtualization of the servers to reduce server sprawl and data center optimization.
Provisioning x86 and SPARC based cool thread servers using Jumpstart and upgraded from Solaris 9 to Solaris 10 using live upgrade and provisioned RHEL 4.x and 5 servers using Kickstart.
Configuring of LDOMs on Sun cool thread T series servers.
Implementing sparse root and whole root zones based on the application requirements and migration of services to SMF. Configuring Solaris Zone in single user mode, shutdown a Solaris zone, adding a dedicated Device to a Local Zone, associate a zone to a resource pool, changing auto boot, changing zone Network Parameters
Creating ZFS file systems using zpools and performed tasks as creation of zpool with mirrored layout, cloning of zpools, performing snapshots etc.
