Sr. Network Engineer/Network Design

Sr. network design architect and engineer in support of United Airlines, with responsibility for design and implementation of network infrastructure at the United airport and reservation Call Centers, cargo, maintenance centers, along with Data Center virtualization server support.

VoIP phones, using PoE+ network switching.

Travel to support the main San Francisco hub airport, and the Tech Ops Maintenance Center

locations…to support the Cisco routers, switches, WLCs, and Data Center infrastructure at those

United sites. Support Cisco Nexus switching at the United Data Center, with configuration for server

virtualization and network optimization at the Data Centers.

Coordinate after-hours changes with the United Airlines network operations group, and 3rd party vendors.

Work with external vendors on access to United Airlines systems, via the extranet connectivity at OPC & CHIRR center. Submit firewall request and changes at United Airlines sites, when necessary.

Network Engineer/Network Design

Network designer and engineer in support of United Airlines domestic and international airports.

Implement new airport startups with coordination from 3rd party WAN support groups (SITA, ATT)

in regards to WAN bandwidth upgrades, router configurations, and OSPF and eigrp routing.

Support sCO(Continental) network connectivity at Co-Locations, and migrate sUA networks together with sCO devices, as needed for Day One and beyond.

Network Area Coordinator

Network Area Coordinator for enterprise LAN/WAN services, supporting the BP Midwest region.

Supervise a LAN network support group in the Chicago region and remote sites in the United States. Primary backup support for the BP Whiting refinery and the Canadian Calgary region. Daily Help Desk ticket resolution, IP Control, CMDB database entry and Cisco device maintenance contract updates. Coordinate trouble tickets with TAC support, as needed.

• Interface with other IT vendors for BP site support for servers(EDS), WAN issues(Verizon) Assist the Verizon GNOC with WAN issues with circuit problems, network latency issues, bandwidth upgrades and router problems.

• Work with local electricians(Meade) on fiber optic, cat5, and power installations in Chicago area.

MCI, Naperville, Illinois 2000 to 2004

Network Engineer

Network engineer responsible for the support of enterprise LAN networks in the Chicago region and Northwest Indiana. Backup network support for the BP Whiting refinery and Cantera sites in Warrenville, Illinois. Provide 24x7 LAN support at the BP Whiting refinery for outages and incidents.
