EXPERIENCE

Orion Energy Services

Worked for Orion Energy Services as a Sub-Surface Project Lead

Carried out detailed reservoir / field evaluations of Ukpokiti Green, Blue and Red reservoirs. Determined infill well opportunities to optimize recovery from the Ukpokiti field. Recommended and monitored infill well drilling that increased production from the field. Also, carried out both classical and reservoir simulation studies of Ata new field development targeting four reservoirs to determine optimal field development strategy. Developed the field development plan (FDP) of Ata field that was approved by management

Coordinated, assigned tasks, developed timelines and supervised work by the team of 13 professionals. Also, was involved in mentoring and coaching of young engineers as well as reviewing of documents and presentation packages for Management and stakeholders.

ExxonMobil Corporation

Unam 1BB2/15 Reservoir Simulation Study

Successfully carried out a history-matched, simulation model of Unam 1BB215 reservoir with an in-place volume of over 400 million barrels of oil and 40 years of production history to identify drill well and work-over opportunities to maximize production and optimize recovery from this reservoir. Ran sensitivities to determine optimal well locations. Also, evaluated the impact of different depletion strategies such as pressure maintenance by gas injection, artificial lift by gas lift etc. Made recommendation on the best depletion strategy to improve recovery from the field.

Erha Phase 5 Deep-Water Simulation Study

Built a 3-D, Erha (Deep-water) field Phase 5 simulation model with Original Oil-In-Place (OOIP) of over 1.2 Billion Barrels. History-matched the model and carried out prediction sensitivities to maximize production from the field. Generated opportunities to assess depletion plan and support investment decisions (Infill Drilling, Gas and Water Injection / Capacity expansions, Gas Sales etc.) of over one billion dollars investment.

Erha Deep Water New Field Development

Seconded to ExxonMobil Development Company (EMDC) in Houston, Texas as Erha Surveillance Engineer in February 2005. Worked to support the development of Erha/Erha North Deep Water new Field Development Project, with initial Project cost of about $1.6 Billion. Carried out series of simulation sensitivity studies for both Erha and Erha North to develop an optimal depletion plan for both fields using Erha Phase 4 simulation Model. Utilized understanding of Erha reservoir and reservoir performance to assess and integrate the results from development drilling campaign. Organized monthly Subsurface transition meetings between different Companies (EMPC – Houston & Nigeria, EMDC Houston, EMEC etc.) that resulted in flawless transfer of the project to ExxonMobil Production in Nigeria.

Yoho/Awawa New Field Development Project

Yoho/Awawa Asset Team lead. Lead the effort to realize the objective of bringing Yoho field on production about 27 months earlier than the planned full field development with the use of Early Production System (EPS) and maintained production at 120 KBD facilities limit.

Ensured that critical data required for proper evaluation of Yoho and Awawa fields such as RFT pressures, fluid samples for PVTs and core data were incorporated in the drilling programs and followed up to ensure that the data were actually acquired.

Satellite Field Development (Oyot, Utai and Enang West fields)

Evaluated Oyot, Utai and Enang West fields using sensitivity analysis to determine optimal depletion plan for the fields and developed the field development plans that were approved by both management and regulatory bodies. Was recognized by management for the speedy approval of Oyot field development plan by the Government

Exploration Drilling

Developed the Engineering Technical Endorsement packages for Ebiya and Idoho W Exploration drilling. Got commendation from the Central Technology Organization (CTO) in Houston on the quality of work especially on the Ebiya Engineering Technical Endorsement package. The packages were approved. Monitored successful drilling of the wells. Evaluated RFTs, which were tied to wireline logs. Worked with Exploration to evaluate the reserves associated with Ebiya.

Coaching/mentoring/Leadership

Backfilled as supervisor of Reservoir Development Group. Reviewed Usari Pressure Maintenance Funding package and arranged for the presentation with the Vice President.

Coordinated the Yoho quarterly workshops/meetings involving different ExxonMobil Companies - EMDC, MPN, CTO and Field Operations. Also coordinated the weekly and monthly teleconference involving the subsurface ALT level and Subsurface Leadership Team respectively. The intent is to keep all the parties informed. Timely circulated the minutes of the meetings.

Provided coaching and mentoring to Young Engineers, National Youth Service Corpers (NYSCs) and Interns (Industrial Attachés).

Nsimbo Gas Simulation Studies

Proceeded on a Special Assignment to ExxonMobil Development Company (EMDC) in Houston, in September 2000. Successfully completed reservoir simulation studies of Nsimbo 1-NS1 and 2-NS1 gas reservoirs and used the model to address critical issues such as optimal depletion strategy, the timing of the compressors and ultimate recovery from the reservoirs. Developed the development plan for Nsimbo gas field to provide fuel gas for power generation. Made presentations to management.

Gas Team Lead

Team Lead for the Gas Team in the Oso/NGL/Gas Group of the JV Technical. Provided the leadership that was instrumental in the advancement of MPN gas programs. Responsible for bringing the flare awareness to MPN management through the timely preparation of the monthly gas balance. Worked with the Team to develop the Gas Optimization Model (SOPRANO) for assessing MPN gas resources. Used the model to evaluate possible gas monetization of MPN gas through NGL, LNG, IPP and Methanol projects.

Asabo 11-V1 reservoir simulation

Conducted a Reservoir Simulation study of Asabo 11-V1 reservoir that firmed up the Original Oil-In-Place (OOIP), optimal gas injection volume, and recoverable reserves. Used the work to justify the installation of additional $204MM Gas Compression capacity Ekpe GCP at Ekpe to provide additional compressed gas for injection into Ekpe 4-X2 and 5-X2 reservoirs and gas-lift gas for Adua and Ekpe-WW fields and Ekpe 4-X1 reservoir.

Ubit PP Upgrade:

Evaluated the capacity requirement for the new Ubit Production Platform (Ubit-PP) at a cost of over $220.00 MM. Ran series of sensitivities and economic evaluation to determine the feasible capacity of 200 TBD. The project was approved by management and was successfully installed in 1995.

MPN Production Forecast: Generated both short term and long range production forecasts that were used in the Company’s plans. Carried out economic evaluation for major projects to determine economic feasibility of the projects.

Exploratory/Wildcat Drilling

Monitored the drilling of Udara-01 and Nsung-01 wildcats. Analyzed the RFTs, determined the STOIIP and Reserves and carried out probabilistic analysis to determine the range of resources associated with the discovery.

OPL 91 Acquisitions. Worked with the Exploration group in the Farm-in of OPL 91. Determined the economic viability of OPL 91. Designed several development scenarios with accompanying economic indicators and made presentation to MPN management.

Worked on Kpnono/Amenam Exploratory drilling. Wrote a justification for the Kpono-3 DSTs and personally supervised the testing on the Rig to ensure the test was carried out according to design and that representative samples were obtained. Integrated the Kpono/Amenam RFT and PVT data into the geologic model.
