WORK EXPERIENCE
Technology Analyst TCS Client - ABN AMRO Bank September 2014 to June 2016
Translated functional specification documents created by business analyst into technical design documents which served as a guide to develop services to enable front-end screens to integrate with back-end DB2 databases
Validated database integrity and mapped the impact of code changes with the help of a custom banking tool named Artis used by the bank, before altering any software or DB2 databases
Gathered requirements from the clients and performed mainframe system analysis to solve a banking compliance issue raised due to intra bank transfer of unencrypted payment data files using FTP
Led the development of a private key encryption function using IBM’s integrated cryptographic service facility (ICSF) to ensure the secure transmission of over a billion annual SEPA payments
Extracted data from an online transactional database and archival tables with the help of complex SQL queries that contained ‘unions’ and ‘not exists’ clauses for personal and commercial customers on the global internet banking interface
Led the promotion of critical database systems from test environment to production, done by using change management tool ServiceNow
Concatenated payment unload data from transactional databases for loading into archival tables and for reporting, done via java screens and transferred flat files to intelliTrack and intelliMatch servers
Validated SAS scripts which integrated data from the payments domain and trades domain to perform root cause analysis of defects observed in the Management Information System reports
Drafted system cases, regression suites and functional acceptance test cases and conducted testing to validate international and domestic payment engine health before production launch
Performed Quality assurance testing of software belonging to the payment engine using custom banking tool and Rexx scripts to make sure the software complied with the bank’s SLAs, and saved 20K Euros annually
Validated mainframe programs for Jackson Structured Programming (JSP) standards and conducted DB design reviews to detect vulnerabilities and breaks at early stages in the software lifecycle
Led the production migration activities of mainframe components and databases by creating the technical implementation plan(TIP) and promotion of components via version control software ISPW
DBA TCS Client - ABN AMRO Bank September 2013 to September 2014
Performed ETL (Extract Transfer and Load) of critical payments data from OLTP relational databases into the archival tables by creating daily batches, and subsequently used the flat file data for Tableau reporting
Created DDLs in production and test environments to build database, table space, tables and indexes in DB2 to support payment processing in the international and domestic payment engine
Developed, tested and maintained embedded SQL queries in COBOL modules to insert, update and delete payment information from Online transactional databases
Optimized payment processing by creating custom module and separate SQL queries for different flavors of incoming payments which led to annual savings of 10k Euros Conducted data and schema mapping to reduce DB performance overhead and created indexes on various tables to deliver the SLA requirement for Internet banking screen refresh time
Created and delivered IMS transactional messages to interface across domains for information retrieval such as market rates
Performed unit testing and system testing using tools like File-AID for DB2 components and Xpeditor for batch programs
Tracked weekly mainframe CPU consumption and execution time of individual functions of the international and domestic payment processing engine by performing IMS trace analysis in multiple test environments
Analyzed existing batches and online payment engine modules, developed and performed system testing of COBOL codes through multiple phases of the software development life cycle
ACADEMIC PROJECTS - Data Analytics
University Enterprise Architecture, Database project (Oracle, SQL) August 2016 to December 2016
Created Entity Relationship(ER) model and semantic constraints to fulfil the database modeling requirements of a University database containing donation funds and scholarship information
Performed logical data modeling using the design-specific ER diagram to create an information-preserving logical model
Normalized the ER schema to BCNF and 5th normal form to avoid redundancy in the database
Created DDL’s for the different tables SQL queries in Oracle database along with constraints and triggers to ensure the integrity of data in the database
Aircraft Overrun, Statistical Computing Project (SAS) January 2017 to February 2017
Developed SAS scripts for data exploration and cleaning of an aircraft dataset and used univariate analysis to understand the frequency distribution of probable predictor variables
Performed linear and non-linear regression analysis of the data along with model validation using residual plots to derive the predictor variables
Developed a technical report to present the correlation between different predictor variables with the response variable and followed CRISP DM methodology for the successful implementation of the project
Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, Social Network Analysis (R, Python, Tableau) January 2017 to April 2017
Analyzed the Cincinnati Children’s hospital’s social media data using statistical techniques of graph study such as articulation points and centrality measure to identify member patterns, most influential people and popular trending content on the network using Python and R packages such as ‘iGraph’, ‘shiny’ and ‘pandas’
Designed the Functional Design Document, Business Executive Summary report along with a Technical Design document as deliverables and was responsible for all coordination activities with the client
Used Tableau for data exploration, made use of forecasting to predict traffic on the network and trends lines to visualize the evolution pattern of the number of network users
Provided prescriptive analysis results to derive the number of administrators required to sustain network activity with increase in the member count
Predictive Analysis Project (Tableau) January 2017 to February 2017
Integrated U.S.A pollution data containing more than one million records into tableau to and represented it in the form of bar charts, scatter plots and time series to derive a clear picture of the variation in pollutants over time and states
Performed predictive analysis using the forecast feature available in Tableau to see the estimated pollutant levels in 2017
