Certified Coder:
Review of medical record documentation and Oasis assessment/documentation submitted
by the clinician and physician, with subsequent assignment of proper ICD-10 codes.
Out-patient hospital and physician office coding, utilizing all rules and regulations as
offered by the CPT and ICD-10 coding manuals. Use of condition, HCPCS and location
codes for ALS/BLS claims for EMS billing.
Insurance Billing:
Billing processing from recovery of correct billing information to account auditing and collection; all phases. Interfacing with Insurance Carriers and patients to ensure correct billing information and recovery of account balances. (HMO, PPO, Group, Private and Government Insurance of all types including Workers Compensation, Medi-Cal, Medicare and other special programs that cover reimbursement). Advanced knowledge of what is to be adjusted and when and whether or not accounts are paid “per contract rate” in evaluating EOBs.
Minimal Collections:
Using aged reports, audited and rebilled unpaid accounts as necessary; called insurance, patients, etc. to collect on unpaid account balances; prepared accounts for outside collection when necessary.
Medical Transcription:
Transcription of radiology reports and transcribing legal reports, workers’ compensation and personal injury claims. Transcription of history and physicals, consultations, operative reports, neurological examinations, and miscellaneous letters, and chart notes for orthopedic and neurology.
