Engineering Experience

Machine Design – Bridge: Designed in 3 stages: truss analysis, vibration analysis and shaft design on a drawbridge. Deliverables were pitch presentations, professional reports and CAD simulations.

Manufacturing Processes – Impeller: Made an impeller via CNC machine, then sand cast with aluminum.

Intro to Mechanical Engineering – Automated bedroom: Designed a scale model of a bedroom that used various sensors to work with the room’s inhabitant. Programmed temperature, pressure, and vibration sensors to work with fans and LEDs to respond to user activities on Matlab software.

Field Session Summer 2016 – Car chassis: Designed a battery-powered car with a custom CNC chassis to race uphill and in a straight line on flat ground. Optimized the gear ratio to maximize the performance on both tracks.

EPICS 1-Mountain Language Institute Dormitory: Groups of five designed a dormitory with a final deliverable of a CAD drawing of the dormitory building, including floor layout and design, as well as a physical scale model.
