Project Connect, PCY3 – Field Project Manager: Acted as the DOE’s project management representative for a wide range of cabling projects including building wide voice and data installations, retrofits and wireless efforts. Responsible for detailed review of vendor documentation prior to job start, leading kick off meetings at schools, inspecting vendor workmanship and resolving school staff concerns as needed. I completed a detailed site survey documentation updating through various stages of the project through close out. Challenge: Networked over 1200 school sites for internet within 1 year. Obstacle: Verizon didn’t have the resources in place to handle such a large facilities upgrade. Solution: Acted as a Project Management resource to Verizon to assist with day to day operations to keep to better track and resolve conflict.

VoIP PBX upgrade – Upgraded the phone systems for various schools throughout the NYC public school system. I was responsible for coordinating the efforts of Verizon, Local 3 vendors, and school staff, to ensure a successful project implementation.

Challenge: Upgrade from old TDM phone systems to newer PBX technology for various NYC schools. Obstacle: Poor infrastructure and 100 plus year old buildings made cabling a nightmare. Solution: Through a combination of unique cabling and wireless solutions we were able to complete the task on time and within budget constraints.

Project Net Smart – Responsible for leading a team of technicians, installers and engineers to survey, document and install computer equipment in classrooms as well as track inventory deployed across multiple locations. Challenge: Had to coordinate delivery of equipment, lock-down of equipment, configuration and testing of equipment within relatively short time frame.

Obstacle: Vendors would run late, defective equipment, personality conflicts resulting in potential delay. Solution: Managed all aspects of the project as efficiently as possible, moving resources, and reallocating equipment to keep to the project on track.

ATS Scanner Project – Coordinated multiple vendors to ensure successful implementation of ATS system upgrades. Completed testing, trouble shooting and school staff orientation to new technology deployed to track student attendance.

Challenge: Installing newer scanning equipment to an older Token Ring based technology. Obstacle: Existing Token Ring Mau’s would fail, or would have limited expansion capability. Solution: Upgraded to CSU/DSU technology and charged MAU’s whenever necessary. OOT HS Data Retrofit Project - Coordinate and manage large multi-site retrofit of data network infrastructure. Supervise and inspect the work of outside vendors escalating changes to scope of work as needed to comply with budget guidelines. Challenge: Massive scope of work due to the size and complexity of the buildings. Obstacle: Cost overruns and excessive material required. Solution: Created a competitive bid process for cable vendors for better pricing and more input. POS School Food Project – Surveyed and coordinated the installation of POS machines, and Kiosks for the school cafeterias throughout the borough of Manhattan.

Challenge: Design a system that would complement the flow of traffic and allow for kids to pay for school lunches electronically.

Obstacles: Cafeteria design wasn’t suitable for system install and staff’s unwillingness to accept newer technology. Solution: Re-routed student traffic to accommodate natural flow and sought buy in from customer prior to installation. EMPLOYMENT HISTORY
