Dear Hiring Manager,

I'm writing to apply for a position you may have posted for a Senior IT Support Specialist creating images for desktop and laptop deployment. I also was support Active Directory as the Network Admin. I am confident that my skills are well-aligned with the role, and that I would be an excellent fit for your organization.

In my last notable contracting position I was a contract-hire for Foster Wheeler USA at the BP Whiting Refinery Modernization Project code named WRMP, for the past two and a half years, where we built a state of the art automated 8 billion dollar, six-drum Coker refinery, and I was fortunate to wear many hats during my work period for Foster Wheeler at BP including Project Manager of their plant wide CCTV implementation.

My role was that of a Network Administrator and Telecommunications technical support specialist, and a contributing role as Project Manager for the, I&E group. I was the sole liaison for Foster Wheeler Inc. WRMP project build site in Whiting Indiana, to their corporate headquarters in Houston, Texas. I managed all the daily IT operations, hardware, software, ticketing systems and all IT documentation including invoicing. I was in charge of monitoring the bandwidth usages for prevention of bottle-necking of high network usage via are Riverbed packet monitoring software that was also monitored from our Houston office.

I was supporting all IT, A+. Network +, Transitioning from 32 bit XP operating systems to Windows 7 64 bit operating systems, Day to Day Server Administration issues, and building network extensions as new sub-contractors enter the project at each phase of the construction process; supplying additional rack closets with switches, supplied-fiber, routers and patch panels along with keeping data, voice, CITRIX and Cisco VPN and some exposure to what was to be implemented in the coming months that being ILink VPN interoffice communications bridged from our satellite location at Whiting to our corporate location in Houston. As the IT Technical Support part of my duties is to manage, track and inventory all network assets, via asset tags placed on each and every device used in the companies active directory structure, which I managed a complete excel database to all end users assigned devices.

As their IT Systems Administrator, I managed all desktop related incidents as well as placing IT infrastructure (i.e. fiber runs, cabling, switches, hubs, peripherals,) to incoming contractors at each phase of the project. Additionally I implemented all the VOIP Avaya and Shoretel connectivity from the client side to all desktops and office space and conference rooms. I used Active directory for I.D. management, adding, deleting and applied permissions to various folder paths to users and groups. Furthermore I creating 250 Virtual desktops and servers using VMware workstations 10.0 to accommodate running 32 bit legacy applications on windows 7 64 bit operating systems also was a team player to our Houston corporate office and actively managed the daily IT and Telecommunications operations at our build site in Whiting, Indiana with all details expected for this role.

I performed many of the Server Administration functions, that of adding users, groups, printers, and computers to the domain active directory tree, setting e-mail accounts, resetting passwords, installing and configuring new workstations and repair of non-functioning computers and or engineering software applications and security, permissions and directory paths of all folders and sub-directory access.

In addition while being at Foster Wheeler build site, I was assimilated into the I&E Engineering Group because of my BSEEt background. I was assigned duties the I&E department that of installing and configuring programmable logic cards into the MCC’s to communicate with our SCADA for the PDC (Power Distribution Center) the core systems of the refinery.

My final support was, to help our I&E (Instrumentation and Electrical) group set up an initial working mock video network for their newly purchased process and security CCTV’s, which was to be installed throughout the new plant. Afterwards I then worked along with sub-contractors as the technical manager, implementing the CCTV system throughout the BP refinery.

My most recent role was an intern at Leapfrog Technology Group, we would use CRM for inputting new case logs for 20 of our major clients accessing thru office365.com, and we would then be able to troubleshoot servers or workstations through a remote client IT management software site called MaxFocus remote management, similar to TeamViewer.

Since then, I have been freelancing on smaller paced businesses with in my local Chamber of Commerce group. . This year in 2016, I am working with small business setting up domains and data & voice infrastructure. I believe my experiences and track record make me an excellent fit for this opportunity. I have enclosed my resume for your consideration.

Please feel free to contact me via phone or email at a time of your convenience to discuss my background as well as the requirements for this role.
