Operations Manager
Managed all inbound, put away, replenishment, full case picking, pick pack picking utilizing pick to light for the largest account in the Fontana site. The pick pack operation also performs direct to customer e-commerce order fulfillment shipping same day. Increased productivity 10% in a three month period. Improved inventory accuracy resulting in customer not requiring a physical inventory for the first time and has opted for an increased cycle count program. Improved picking and shipping service standards which are reflected in retailer score cards which have improved from F, D, and C grades to A’s and B’s.
PORT LOGISTICS GROUP – City of Industry, California 2007 - 2014
PLG is a fast growing top 100 3PL providing full service harbor, distribution, and transportation services from coast to coast.
Building Manager
Managed the wall to wall operation of PLG’s largest account on the west coast. In seven years account grew from $5MM per year in revenue to $13MM. Processed an average of 4MM units/month of full case, pick pack, pre-pack, and GOH utilizing customers PKMS WMS. Pick pack handled 14K SKU’s in 4K locations with fully dynamic locations.. Building held over 23K reserve locations. Eliminated year end physical inventory through an aggressive cycle count program. Achieved 5 perfect audits from an external auditor. Achieved yearly improvements in productivity, accuracy, and cost control. From 2007 to 2013 account was handled out of several buildings. As project manager coordinated the relocation of product into single 600K building with no service impact.

A $156M wholesale distributor of juvenile products to retailers such as Wal-Mart, Target and K-Mart.
Operations Manager
Managed building operations of a 525,000 sq. ft. building, $156M in annual sales and 75+ employees. Managed forecasting, purchasing, inventory control, manpower planning, employee relations, and warehouse layout and space allocation.
Coordinated the opening of new DC and relocating juvenile product from main DC and 3PL’s while maintaining service levels to customers, resulting in completion of construction projects and relocation of product to support customer needs on time and on budget.
Turned around deteriorating inventory and data integrity control problems at California DC by correcting serious accuracy and data integrity errors through analysis of data, determining root causes of problems and implementing corrective action steps, resulting in bringing the building into inventory ready condition always.

Operations Manager (1996 - 2000)
Managed operational activities in a 333,000 sq. ft. distribution center with six direct reports and 300 hourly employees. Serviced 270 stores in eight states and shipped product to three satellite distribution centers located in Northern California, Oregon and Texas. Managed facility material handling systems and maintenance. Utilized RF, pick -to -light and voice recognition systems. Managed an annual budget of $12M for the Mira Loma site..
Integral member of relocation team that relocated 6,500 SKU’s and 18,000 pallets out of four buildings into one in 12 weeks, resulting in relocation completed on schedule and on budget.
Led change management initiatives that resulted in the defeat of union campaign drive, by instituting and implementing management cultural changes creating better communications between management and hourly staff.
Director of Distribution - West Coast (2000 - 2005)
Responsible for a $23M budget for one main distribution center in Mira Loma, California and three satellite DC’s located in Stockton, California, Portland, Oregon and Dallas, Texas. Managed eight direct reports and one manager in each of the satellite DC’s. Managed vendor review and selection for supplies, services and temporary employees.
Managed WMS Software Upgrade by thorough planning, training and creating team ownership of the project while gaining participation of all stakeholders, resulting in smooth roll out and “go live” as scheduled.
Planned, scheduled and directed the relocation of the New Jersey Distribution Center including leadership of relocation teams and coordination of activities between the buying, transportation, vendors, construction and material handling installation departments, resulting in relocation completed on schedule with no service interruptions. Maintained a 97% fill rate.
