Work Experience:

Juneau Associates Inc. February 2016- Current

Working as a field engineer at Illinois Tollways Project 4231 Interstate 90 as a sub consultant to STV Inc. The project included 2 miles of mainline reconstruction and a bridge over Illinois Route 31. Responsibilities included the review of all project plans and specifications, and communication with the contractor in regards to the contract requirements, as well as reports on the Tollway database, EBuilders. Responsibilities also included building the new noise abetment wall of about about 5000 linear feet along the East-bound mainline as well as the sewer pipeline installation (size between 12”-60”, length of 2000 linear feet, and pipe underdrain of 6”-12”).

Jacobs Engineering Group. April-2013- January 2016

Worked as a Field Engineering Specialist on Integrys/Peoples gas (PGL) /Accelerated Main Replacement Program (AMRP) Project Chicago. Duties include the replacement of hundreds of miles of cast iron, ductile iron gas main, and steel gas service pipes that initially delivered low pressure gas with polyethylene pipes of medium pressure gas through out the city limits of Chicago, Illinois. Perform on- site pressure testing of the installed pipes to insure their quality as per the procedures of the Integrys gas company and the Illinois Commerce Commission. Completed training and received certification in regards to heat and electro fusion of plastic pipes, directional drilling, and welding inspection. Primary responsibilities, which are performed on site as per contractor compliance and quality control inspections include the following: supervision of the installation of gas mains (2”-18”) and services (1”- 2”), general site work, excavation, directional boaring, maintenance and protection of traffic, grade, sidewalk, pavement, and landscape restoration, as well as general site coordination to ensure safety to affected landowners. Responsible for field construction efforts and performance decisions that will assure that the contractor maintains proper preparation. Oversaw the regulation of quality assurance documentation in regards to all construction projects in the program.

Accurate Group Inc. January 2012-March 2013

Worked as a Documentation Engineer/ Assistant R.E on Arterial Street Resurfacing project for CDOT (AR-55 North). Duties included reviewing of all the plans and specifications, communicating with the contractor in regards to contract requirements, checking construction permits and submittals, logging and updating the submittal log for the specific construction project, making entries in Daily Log, maintaining construction data via Master Project Files, as well as preparing and issuing construction meeting minutes. Held review meetings, prepared PCM’s, reviewed and responded to project correspondence, prepared field orders for the Chicago Department of Transportation (CDOT), reviewed and logged certified payrolls of employees, administered and processed monthly pay estimates, incorporated all revisions into project documentation coordinated between the Chicago Department of Transportation and contractor on project related issues and coordinated utility work. Also, checked Inspectors Daily Reports (IDR’s) and entered project items in Quantity Book. Assisted the resident engineer in the smooth completion of projects by preparing pay estimates, maintaining a daily work journal, quantity book, and facilitated the project close out.

STV-Inc. Chicago Illinois May 2011- January 2012.

Illinois State Toll Highway Authority

Interstate 90 East West Toll way from Randall Road to Rockford. Project was valued at $36 million and included the rehabilitation of twelve overpass bridges, the resurfacing of asphalt on a thirty-two mile roadway which also included full depth asphalt and concrete patches. Supervised in the installation of new drainage structures, exit and entry ramps, as well as electrical work. Replaced overhead signs, monitored contractor’s daily work as per the contractor’s specifications and approved drawings. Supervised daily lane closers, checked maintenance of traffic signs, and made detailed reports of any accidents that occurred during the course of the project. Performed quantity calculations, checked field engineers’ paper work and attended weekly progress meetings. Recorded final documentation of construction projects and performed the close out of the project at its completion.

Amtrak Chicago yard improvement

Worked as a sub consultant with Jacobs Engineering on a $100+ million ARRA (American Recovery and Reinvestment Act) stimulus funded to the Amtrak Chicago Yard Project. Responsibilities included: working as a primary company representative to the client, field inspection, and safety oversight. Facilitated building improvements based on the design built, which included electrical, HVAC’s, and utilities rehabilitation work. Other duties included the supervision of tracks and signal relocation; duck bank installation for new signal systems, supervision of the removal and replacement of new water cabinets, and the removal and replacement of a new pedestrian bridge (150’) across railroad tracks.

Illinois Tollway (2009)

Performed the rehabilitation work of overpass bridges on various highways in Illinois such as I-88, I-90 East-West Tollway, and I-294. Also facilitated the rehabilitation of raymond pile bridges, bridge deck and other facilities such as the relocation of storm sewage and drainage systems.

Interstate North South Highway I-294. Reconstruction included five bridges and two miles of pavement.

Duties included monitoring the installation of micro and “H” piles, substructure of footing foundation, structure of piers, columns, and abutments as per the proposed drawings. Also, monitored the installation of super structures such as steel and precast beams, bridge decks and parapet walls. Roadwork included the following: earth excavation and embankment, construction of storm sewer and drainage structures, as well as pavement under-drain installation of lug system.

Illinois State Toll Highway Authority.

North-South Toll way I-355 south extension (127th St- 167th St) (22 miles, 2-way)

Project was valued at $800 million and included the new construction of the main line, three new overpass bridges and twelve box culverts (average lengths of 400ft each.

Supervised the construction of entry and exit ramps, as well as the toll plaza. Monitored the construction of the new drainage system on the main line and the backup system on 143rd street. Reviewed and approved submittals, documented final quantities of materials and payments.

American Consulting Engineers, LLC. Feb 2002-Dec 2005

Metropolitan Transit Authority. Multiple Projects.

Served as the liaison by coordinating weekly meetings between municipality, contractors, and the project manager (Metra). Maintained submittal and RFI (Request For Information) logs for contractors and clients. Performed the task of reviewing and approving submittals submitted by the contractors and sub contractors, organized emergency meetings between architects, designers and municipal authorities on The Glen of North Glenview Railway Station.

Illinois Toll Highway Authority.

Supervised the rehabilitation work of various bridges on interstate I-94, I-90, and I-88. Rehabilitation of the bridges included: soundings of the bridge deck, patchwork of the bridge deck and repairing piers and crash walls. Also, monitored the rehabilitation of drainage and sewer lines.

Illinois Toll Highway Authority.

Deerfield/Lake Cook road interchange and Willow Road reconstruction. Project included 1600 ft long underpass and underground pump station ($27mil)

Worked on the underpass tunnel with duties including monitoring: earth excavation, soil retention and construction of retaining walls, pre cast deck installation and waterproofing. Construction of the pump station (90’ included: monitoring earth excavation, soil retention, construction of the underground pump station which included mechanical and electrical systems, and the installation and testing of emergency generator systems.

Dupage County Illinois.

Fawell Dam on the west branch of Dupage River in Naperville, Illinois.

Project included the construction of saddle dike, emergency generator systems and the installation of new flood gates.

Delta Engineering Inc. Chicago, IL April 1992-April 1998

Illinois Department of Transportation.

Interstate I-80 Harlem- La Grange reconstruction which includes two underpass bridges and four miles of mainline construction.

Monitored the installation of new drainage systems, lug systems on the main line, construction of underpass bridges and the overall construction of the bridge and main line roadway.
