Arizona State University – Tempe, Arizona August 2015-May 2017

Coursework: Thermodynamics of Chemical Systems, Transport Processes, Chemical Reactor Engineering, Six Sigma Methodology, Air Quality Engineering, Fuel Cells and Biofuel Cells, Advance Materials Characterization, Structural and Mechanical Properties of Materials, Polymer Principles & Processing

Bachelor of Engineering in Chemical Engineering

Thadomal Shahani Engineering College – Mumbai, India July 2011-June 2015

RESEARCH EXPERIENCE

Synthesis and characterization of carbon black-microgel composites for deposition on membranes for purification of water

Advisor: Dr. Lenore L. Dai [School Director & professor, School for Engineering of Matter, Transport & Energy – ASU] January 2016 – Present

National Science Foundation (NSF) funded project - 4 years (2012-2016).

Synthesized zwitterionic microgel successfully with subsequent tweaks to alter particle size of these polymers.

Exploring the temperature driven transition of microgels using carbon black - a cheaper and easier alternative than metal nanoparticles. Tested and successfully deposited carbon black-microgel composite on oppositely charged membranes for water purification.

Characterized deposition of microgel on membrane using scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) for determining the transition temperature of the polymer.

Scaling a cyber-enabled JIT-Teaching with Two-way formative feedback (JTF) project from the individual faculty level to the disciplinary department (JTFD)

Advisor: Dr. Stephen Krause [Professor, School for Engineering of Matter, Transport & Energy – ASU] August 2016 – PresentNational Science Foundation (NSF) funded project - $400,000 grant - 4 years (2015-2019)

Observed and evaluated professor’s classes based on the reformed teaching observation protocol guidelines.

Organized and held workshops for participating professors to direct their focus towards the essentials of teaching and how to get the best out of their students.
