Resume:

February **, ****

Dear Hiring Manager,

I am very interested in your Cost Accountant role. Having been in a variety of business manager roles in construction for over 20 years, working on both public and private contracts and with union and non-union employees, I have vast experience in project management, cost management, and identifying and resolving issues.

Recent accomplishments:

Managed the $400M EXPO Light Rail Maintenance Facility Project in Santa Monica. This project was a high profile project that had PLA and small business plans.

Transitioned Kiewit’s accounting system to SAP, a four year project. Identified requirements and reports needed, tested out sections before deploying them and continued to stay involved after deployment to increase the benefits of the new system. This endeavor included training at all levels and using change management to accept the new systems. Consolidating systems to SAP resulted in cost savings, better cost management and efficiency improvements.

Controller/Business Manager for as many as 10 construction projects at a time, ranging from

$2M to $400M. Oversaw as many as 35 business managers, ensuring projects were reporting accurate financials and compliance requirements.

Have worked all aspects of construction projects, including project set up; sub-material contracts; payroll; AP/AR; cost management; pay estimates; and completion of a project. I am a creative, out- of-the-box thinker, while following all areas of policies and compliance. I have been selected to work on many projects because of my excellence in trouble-shooting and am comfortable working alone or as a team.

I am confident I could add value to your organization and I am excited about this opportunity. Thank you for your consideration.

Sincerely,

Crystal Messier
