ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Skills Profile:
I started out my career in radiography as a diagnostic technologist. I soon learned other modalities including MRI and CT. Within my second year as a radiographer, I was offered a position as the department lead. My personal skill in working with people and truly valuing them as individuals is what I believe lead management to place me in this position. Over the years, I have learned a great deal about all imaging modalities. Although I may not be able to perform every imaging modality, I can manage them. After working as a staff technologist for five years at NAH, I was asked to apply for the Clinical Manager position. For the next eight years, I was the clinical manager of a multi-modality department that performs over 90,000 exams per year. My job duties included hiring, managing, coaching and discipline of 57 personnel. Another critical function I performed was setting and managing the department's yearly budget. I am proud to say that we were able to come in under budget for each of those eight years while still providing the highest quality patient care. I researched, submitted, and executed the purchase of capital equipment. I have also performed the role of interim director two times for a total of 22 months while administration was recruiting for a new director. After two short-term directors in February 2013, I was offered the director position. I performed in that role until NAH executed a Reduction In Force
(RIF) in March 2014.
I was re-hired as the Clinical Manager with NAH's Heart and Vascular Center in April 2014. In this position, I have managed an out-patient clinic with six cardiologists, one vascular surgeon, four cardiothoracic surgeons, twenty- five support staff, diagnostic Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine and other testing. This has been a great opportunity to grow and add to my professional experiences. I have reached the point where I would like to return to my passion and area of expertise, which is IMAGING!
My career goal is to make an impact on my communities' health and well- being by running an imaging department that provides the most comprehensive, cost effective, and compassionate care to patients, their families, and the community by involved, caring, and competent staff members.
