Job Title-OSP Construction Cable Splicer

Splice and maintain various types of outside plant facilities. Experience includes buried, aerial and underground applications using copper and fiber optic cables. Cold splice new cable and re-arrange existing facilities per engineering work orders. Assisted maintenance department with service outages and cut cables.

Took on the supervisory role when my manager was on vacation and was placed in charge of work operations on major road moves and other OSP projects.

Review and work from maps, prints and work orders from engineering department. Made suggestions on how to improve work orders to save time and cut costs.

Spliced fiber optic cables since 1994 on all types of fiber including loose buffer, tight buffer and ribbon fiber.

Experienced in using Fujikura fusion welders and cleavers. Prepare and setup splices in Preformed Line Product closures including stainless perform, coyote, pups and runts. Tested fiber after splicing to ensure quality assurance and troubleshooting in the future.

Worked on fiber to the premise in Rowlett, TX in 2004.

Worked hurricane Isabelle damage in Baltimore, MD and Richmond, VA in 2003.
