EXPERIENCE
Oct 2004 – Nov 2016 Project Director Qatar Gas, Doha and Ras Laffan Qatar
Reported to the Chief Operating Officer Engineering: Oversaw sequential contracts as detailed; leading a task force of six departments of Engineers and Contractor staff comprising a total of seven hundred and fifty employees to manage the Engineering and Construction of the largest housing development in Qatar housing eleven thousand five hundred people. Briefed to develop a five year strategic plan for an existing community to develop an additional one thousand four hundred new housing villa units, and the expansion of a four thousand student capacity school, clinic as well as several shopping and entertainment facilities. Plus set-up the infrastructure designs for modular community development to accommodate sixteen thousand people by 2016. Also to interface with local government agencies and media companies to promote QG/RG communities and facilities.
2008 – 2010 Onshore Project Manager - Ship Repair Yard, Dry Dock RLC Port, Ras Laffan City, Nakilat, Qatar
Reported to the Offshore Project Director: Briefed to Lead the Nakilat Project Task Force (PTF) responsible for managing the design, construction and start-up of the Onshore Works of a major new Ship Repair Yard and a Ship Construction Facility, Qatar’s largest Dry-dock, in the expanded Port of Ras Laffan. This $900MM project included Ship repair yard consisting of fourteen buildings with over twenty thousand tons of prefabricated steel to support Nakilat’s ship building program for the State of Qatar - requiring three thousand three hundred and thirty three fifteen meter deep piles to support Fabrications Shops.
Key Responsibilities and Achievements:
Successfully managed eight Multi-disciplined Contractors with a total work force of over four thousand five hundred people at peak for a total budget of $900MM over an aggressive sixteen month schedule.
Managed interface between Project and Ras Laffan City for all permitting.
Worked as Commissioning Manager Onshore works - worked with other sections of the PTF to define the Execution Strategy of
the Commissioning Works. This included the preparation of Gant charts, Commissioning Packages preparation, GATE review of
the Pre-Commissioning, Commissioning and Handover process and team formation to manage said work.
Developed a systematic approach for each phase of the Commissioning Works to allow for early access/use of facilities prior to complete Onshore Works completion.
2004 – 2008 Construction Manager/Countrywide Logistics Advisor/Interface Advisor Qatar Gas II
Reported to the Engineering Director: Briefed to manage the construction of Common Condensate Single Point Mooring project comprising two offshore loading Buoys for export of Condensate produced by various ventures at Ras Laffan City, Qatar, including installation of over fifty two kilometres of concrete coated forty two inch steel pipeline connecting to two submerged plems (Blue Water buoy body) capable of delivering condensate at a rate of 8,000m3/hr. Project had a value of over $230MM.
Key Responsibilities and Achievements:
Successfully developed engineering and project execution for a recreational city (Asia City – Ras Laffan) to handle up to five thousand five hundred employees per day within RLC, as Project Manager this required extensive permitting and contract negotiation with local companies that included the installation of eight (three hundred and fifty seating) cinemas and four separate eating areas. Total area developed was 220,000 m2 including large landscaping using reclaim water from within RLC.
Assisted in the development & implementation of the Interface Management Plan for Train 4 & 5 LNG Project in Doha, Qatar,
Including monitoring & progress solutions for project issues for the Off-plots and Onshore Interface coordination between the
Project and various external entities.
Developed the Country wide logistics program for the various Oil and Gas Ventures at Ras Laffan, Qatar.
Developed several long range studies on behalf of the Ventures in RLC to mitigate the risks associated with the strains of projects on the State of Qatar, including the management of various statistical studies performed internationally to insure the effectiveness of project delivery dates.
Managed many varying onshore and offshore tasks with zero fatalities.
Completed over twenty projects on schedule and budget, and handled 8 contractors simultaneously.
Provided a program for over 180,000 Interface agreements on QG2.
Negotiated agreements for Product transfer between 14 asset holders ventures in Ras Laffan.
Developed four major initiatives to develop environmental programs to support the Oil and Gas communities.
