Responsible for overseeing a portfolio of Fund of Funds, preparing NAVs including weekly estimate deadlines, liaising with the client and auditors. PricewaterhouseCoopers, Cayman Islands: September 2011 – June 2013 Senior Associate, Audit

Responsible for planning, execution and completion of audit work on a variety of hedge funds with a variety of structures, administered by fund administrators in Cayman Islands, Boston, New York, Los Angeles and Bahamas.

Responsible for ensuring audit work is performed in order to meet client deadlines, with all deadlines to date met successfully and several funds completed ahead of deadline.

Responsible for overseeing some less experienced team members, providing coaching and guidance where required.

Assisted with financial statements preparation between the first draft provided by fund administrators and the final signed draft. This includes posting adjustments, reviewing accounts for errors and inconsistencies in addition to suggesting improvements in presentation and in technical areas such as accounting policies.

Taken on additional responsibilities such as coordinating the work of other team members, chairing calls with offshore fund administrators and being their first point of contact, leading internal meetings with the team and the Partner. Also tasked with performing the initial review of associates’ work.

Assisted in the roll out of new audit software and given additional responsibility as a point of contact for colleagues on this software. Involved in the tailoring of the audit approach to increase efficiency and profitability of various engagements, with measured improvements shown as a result.

Created templates utilizing formulas and macros in Excel in order to reduce manual tasks and increase automation in several areas of data entry and analysis.

Heavily involved in utilizing PwC’s audit software in order to increase the efficiency of audits across the funds group. This included creating several template files that could be used across the funds group for a variety of engagements. This significantly reduced the amount of planning and set-up time required to begin an engagement. EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor Degree in Law (LLB) with Honors from The University of Edinburgh, Scotland

PERSONAL INTERESTS:

I enjoy playing sports, particularly football but also golf and tennis. Since I first arrived in Cayman I have also participated in beach volleyball, softball and Gaelic football. I also enjoy a variety of other leisure activities such as scuba diving, cooking and reading.
