The State of the Art and Cutting Edge in the Field of Internet of Things (IoT): An Independent Study (August 2016- December 2016)

Investigated current applications in the field of IoT and analyzed the inherent complexities with respect to the challenge of information processing, connectivity and energy efficiency, while maintaining privacy and security in IoT devices which have innately low computational power.

Recognized open problems in the field of IoT after studying 44 IEEE journal papers, with the primary goal of proposing possible solutions to these involved problems using Java programming. Data Offloading in Mobile Computing using Opportunistic Networks (August 2016- December 2016)

Investigated and proposed an alternate solution that considered process segmentation as opposed to task segmentation at the host, while considering the time complexity of the processes as the predominant criterion for segmentation at the host. Designing an alternative TCP Protocol: Computer Communication Networks Project (February 2016- May 2016)

Implemented a new TCP protocol and compared it with original TCP and UDP protocols in terms of throughput and number of dropped packets, using TCL and OTCL programming on the Network Simulator II. Linear Block Codes for Multiple Sources: Digital Communications Project (August 2015- November 2015)
