Operations Analyst/DR Coordinator June, 2004 to March 2010

Serve as a project lead and backup to the Data Center Operations manager. My primary role is Project Lead for the UniGroup Data Center while also serving as the Disaster Recovery coordinator. Some but not all of my current achievements include the following:

●Installation of a new Fire Suppression system for The Data Center

●The implementation of processes and written procedures and solutions to support the monitoring of computer operations

●ITIL implementation

●Management of Data Center facilities maintenance for the Data Center infrastructure such as HVAC systems, UPS systems and batteries, Diesel Generator, and under floor cables.

●Participate in Business Continuity Planning (BCP)

●Transitioned UniGroup’s data tapes to a new off-site vault vendor

●Schedule and conduct Disaster Recovery tests for UniGroup and the disaster recovery provider

●Manage external vendors that support UniGroup and its companies.

Shift Supervisor Oct, 1997 to June, 2004

Managed a staff of six employees. This included full time employees and contractors. Some of my responsibilities include the development of employees, employee evaluations, goal setting and personal coaching. Also performs additional project management functions. Worked with internal and external vendors and various technical teams. The environment consisted of over 700 servers which include SAP, UNIX (HP and SUN/SGI), VMS, Exchange and NT servers. My team responsibilities included backing up the data from all of the servers, monitoring batch jobs, health of servers, networks, and network intrusion prevention. Trouble shoot user issues and server problems in addition to the documentation of problems, the execution of our escalation process, and the management of change control. My department’s success was customer satisfaction driven. NOTE: Monsanto outsourced the IT group to IBM in 1998; re-in sourced the IT group in 2001.

Computer Consultant April, 1997 to Oct, 1997

Responsible for the monitoring of all production jobs in CA-7. Performs ABEND resolution and consults with programmers daily. Ensures that daily deadlines are met and escalate problems as necessary. Also approves changes that are needed after hours and publish daily production reports. Work under minimal supervision.

Data Center Analyst Feb, 1995 to April, 1997

FEDERAL RESERVE BANKSt. Louis, MO

Performed duties for network/computer operations in an MVS environment. Also responsible for production control working with CA-7 correcting abends, monitoring and trouble shooting network problems, and monitoring LAN network servers ensuring that their backups complete. Coordinate helpdesk calls, and escalate production problems when necessary. Worked as a consultant for the Federal Reserve for approximately six months and got hired on as a permanent employee.

Worked in all aspects of the data center, including the tape library mounting 3420 reel tapes, operated 3800 IBM laser printer, 4090 XEROX laser printer, 9790 IBM laser printer. Software products included CA, and FOURTH DIMENSION scheduling packages. Responsible for monitoring production batch job abends and providing technical resolution. This was an MVS environment. At this site, we were required to work with and assist the client who was ARPERCEN (UNITED STATES ARMY PERSONNEL).
