EXPERIENCE:

4/13 –6/15 West Coast Regional Manager - Dedicated Management Group

Returned to California to take over West Coast Operations.

Overseeing 7 locations mainly West Coast but kept 3 from East coast due to good relationships with McLane VP and Presidents.

2/09 –4/13 East Coast Regional Manager Corporate office Georgia - Dedicated Management Group

Responsible for 7 East Coast locations reporting to the COO and president and owner of dedicated management group. With 30% travel to locations currently.

Support 28 members of salaried members of management and 175 teammates working in a warehouse/food grocery environment. State of the art RF conveys systems featuring 400.000 to 1 million sq. ft. of warehouse combined. Hands on management, manage by walking around multiple shifts, including days, swing and night shifts

Providing P&L budget projections, maintain comparison reports, and weekly and monthly metrics. Period reviews of P&L, objectives and projects with COO and CFO.

Provide quarterly reviews to General Managers and implement raise and reviews bonus and increases for the current fiscal year projections, Cost analysis and cost cutting measures in all functions throughout the East coast organization. To work with West and Central Regional’s to facilitate accuracies and consistencies across the board.

To assist in new start up facilities and rebuilding management teams from ground up working closely with the 3rd party clients to evaluate current and future needs and expectations going forward.

Work closely with DC managers, VPD’s and Presidents of McLane distribution to build a good working relationship and to provide support and assistance with any new business, issues or concerns. To formulate action plans and implement solutions.

Accomplishments:

Introduction of Pallet programs to save customer up to 15% benefits costs and supply a working slide program with greater efficiencies, CHEP, IGPS segregation and palletizing. Also working with IFCO and pallet vendors to reconcile inventory.

Completed several start up programs for selection of seasonal product to be picked, shipped and implemented full total quality control before loading.

Implemented 3 driver helper programs with in excess of 60 -100 helpers to accompany McLane drivers on routes and work closely with 7-11, Wawa Stores and vendors. Also to conduct off site inspections and audits to verify that P&P and safety are followed.

Cut costs from payroll and travel to the sum of 3% per year for the last 3 years. I implement new training techniques by utilizing Skype, conference calls and cross training throughout the management teams. This is approx. $780,000 savings per year.

Worked with Customers to increase yearly incentives and increases to the cost of programs each year by working with P&L and cost analysis tools. Reducing costs and improving margins to gain a positive cash flow while reducing inefficiencies.

8/05 – 2/09 West Coast Regional Manager Dedicated Management Group, CA

Responsibilities include overseeing 4 west coast locations, (1) Arizona, (1) Washington and (2) California. 12 management members and 80+ associates. Warehouses vary in sq footage from 300,000 to 600,000 including convey systems, RF and pick to light systems. Utilizing FIFO regarding inventory controls and daily cycle counts.

To visit each division twice a year performs facility audits, meet with 3PL upper management and implement any ongoing or future business as required. (other travel may be necessary to help other Regions out)

To provide monthly and yearly analysis reports for budget to actual and provide any presentations to CEO or management member of 3PL on any given subject.

Work with each Facility manager to set expectations, goals and yearly budgets.

To work and facilitate at the Distribution manager and Vice presidents levels for our current 3PL McLane’s distribution centers.

To work with outside vendors, Shipping carriers and offsite locations to improve business and facilitate any issues or concerns between parties.

Cover all facets of warehouse receiving processes and implement any improvements and cover all policy and procedures with each facility manager.

To make sure all my locations are following company guidelines, Policy and Procedures and complying with all local and state laws that pertain to their specific division.

Accomplishments:

Worked closely with the DC Manager and VPD of distribution to implement Driver helper teams, grocery loading teams and selection and inventory control. Reduced inventory losses and accuracy by $200,000 for an 8 month project. This was a customer hands off project regarding hiring, screening applicants, drug testing/ background checks and training.

Provided 3PL management team to oversee customer teammates and oversee dock efficiencies and hold teammates accountable for day to day activities.

Work with transportation to build working rapport with Drivers and dispatch operators. To oversee route times and efficiencies in reducing run times while reducing overtime and payroll costs.

7/05 – 7/06 General Manager Dedicated Management Group, WA

Oversee 400,000 sq. ft. warehouse supervising 5 salaried members of management and 28 freight handlers.

Responsible for all unloading functions and material movement with the warehouse on 3rd shift.

To work closely with customer and incoming freight to accomplish receiving goals while maintaining payroll and budgetary considerations.

Manage by walking around working one on one with department heads to accomplish common goals and daily tasks set by Regional manager.

Accomplishments:

Provide working metrics for improvements regarding unload times while following best practices within the warehouse. Bad pallet management and reducing bad pallets to be placed in racks, Merge or selection areas.

Cutting costs with payroll by reducing unload times, added training on receiving and extended forklift and pallet jack training to gain efficiencies.

2/99 – 1/05 Logistics / Warehouse Manager Express Point Technology Services, CA

Responsible for the accountability of Inventory and assets up to 7M dollars. 3 inventory warehouses totaling 700,000 sq. ft. 3 shift capability. full ERP system, RF and full in floor guidance systems for turret forklifts

Responsible for 3 direct salaried members of management (shipping & Receiving supervisors) and a total of 135 teammates in separate departments including forklift operators, inventory control, inbound and outbound shipping and receiving and full bulk and daily cycle counts.

Establishes operational procedures and work instructions for all logistic department activities.

Coordinate with production control, purchasing and manufacturing to ensure timely ordering and correct stocking levels for inventory requirements.

Responsible for the employment, training and employee’s motivation in any given discipline within the department.

Responsible for the cycle count program and accuracy to 99.5%.

Duties include Weekly and Monthly department metrics and management review by quarter.

Responsibilities also include interacting with customers at all levels in presentations and customer facility tours.

Several Key programs implemented, including Web based interface and pick pack and ship programs. (Customer owned, Advance exchange and Virtual sourcing, 24/7 support)

Responsibility for running facility, Company meetings and making financial decisions in the absence of the Vice President.
