Checking permit for operators so as to ensure that they are certified to perform their said task efficiently.

Period: August 2010- July 2012

This project is ongoing. The goal of the Kumba-Mamfe Road Construction Project is to help in opening the South West Region and improving on the level of service of this road and the living conditions of the population. Most specifically, one of the goals of the project is to enhance transport infrastructure of the national and regional road network to contribute to Cameroon’s economic growth.

The functions of the road are to link the three Division of the Southwest Region, i.e. Meme, Kupe-Manenguba and Manyu. It will ensure traffic flow between South West and Littoral, as well as interconnect the Limbe Container port with the Cross-River State in Nigeria

Functions and Responsibility

Undertaking preliminary feasibility studies to see if this project can be realizable as far as the topography is concern.

Creating a baseline plan to know show clearly the scope of the project.

Carrying out Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA), to know what will be the impact of this project to the environment.

Sensitizing the surrounding population on the Importance of the project and the effect it will bring, be it short or long term.

Ensuring that most of the endangered species that are cut can be replanted to maintain ecosystem sustainability.

The captured species and taken to zoos to prevent their extinction from the ecosystem.
