Description

This position is responsible for operating heavy equipment in a safe and appropriate manner. ThispositionreportstoandworksundertheguidanceoftheSite Foreman.

Duties and Responsibilities

*Worksunder the direction of the site foreman,to complete daily scheduleof work

*Performs daily safety andmaintenancechecks

*Cleanequipment as scheduled and/or require

*Ensureequipment is safely andsecurely storedl

*Advise Foreman of any required maintenanceor repairs

*Participatein routine maintenance

*Practiceworkplacesafetytoensurethesafetyoffellowemployeesandpublic. Required Skills& Qualities

*Experiencewith water and sewer installations

*3+years experiencein the operation of heavy equipment in ahigh traffic environment

*Knowledge of workplace safety requirements and procedures including but not limited tobacking up procedures, use of flagmen and spotters, signage, incident reporting,requiredpersonalsafety equipment and lifting of heavy loads.

*Knowledgeof equipment operation,cleaning and maintenance requirements

*Analyticalandproblem solving skills

Working Conditions

*Must work inall weather conditions andbe prepared for bothextreme heat andcold

Mayat times be exposed to dangerous and/or toxic substancesand must take necessaryprecautions to protect eyes,nose and skin from irritationand infection

*Mustbeabletoworkindependentlyandmaintainascheduleofwork.
