Schedule, coordinate, and track all rail movements and cost in and out of the Refinery; including propane, butanes, heavy oils, coke, toluene, and other products.
Provide routine data entry and other support services to the “Yields Analyst” (Coordination & Economics Analyst) role. Other support services may include the following on an ad hoc basis:
Generate a daily inventory report using SIGMAfine
Generate refinery mass balances and reports using SIGMAfine
Generate and submit DOE (EIA) reports
Complete monthly financial and governmental reports
Support Clean Fuels reporting activities, including the self-audit program
Cross-train with the Yields Analyst role for mutual vacation relief and other short-term vacancies
Responsibilities:
The Analyst may be responsible for:
Frequent telephone and email contact with Refinery Operations, Finance, and Planning groups, Commercial group (Houston and Calgary), other refineries, various customers and suppliers, other contract personnel
Entry of rail movement data into SAP (Sales & Distribution module) accounting system
Preparation of Bills of Lading for shipments
Scheduling and coordinating railcar movements, loading, and unloading activities within the refinery
Assisting Transportation in managing the Billings railcar fleet logistics
Tracking railcar movement and coordinating railcar availability, to accommodate changes in refinery operations and other events
Assisting Yields Accounting with receipt and shipment accounting
Monitor rail costs and long term logistics and advise Refinery Management on optimization opportunities and planning issues
Monitor and research Federal, State, and Company rules and regulations related to rail loading, unloading, shipping, etc, and advise and assist other Refinery departments in those areas
Assist and coordinate with other personnel in the Optimization, Planning & Economics group
Reviewing local rail-related charges for accuracy and submit to Transportation for payment
Calculating railcar load volumes
Basic / Minimum Qualifications:
Legally authorized to work in the United States on a regular full-time basis without restrictions.
High School diploma/GED
Strong Microsoft Excel skills
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail to support complex scheduling and coordination activities
Commitment to meet deadlines under sometimes demanding time schedules
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, able to establish and maintain good working relationships with a wide variety of people: refinery and corporate personnel, customers, vendors
Logistics or accounting background is a plus
Familiarity with refinery or similar industrial processing operations and/or rail scheduling is a plus
