SOFTWARE TOOLS:

• SQL • Tableau • Python (Numpy, Pandas, Scikit-Learn) • AMPL • Minitab • JMP• Microsoft Office

CERTIFICATION COURSES COMPLTETED:

Excel to Tableau to MySQL: Analytic Techniques for Business Specialization – Duke University, Coursera

Applied Data Science with Python Specialization – University of Michigan, Coursera

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:

Statistics Consultant and Engineering Tutor, (PART TIME) ARIZONA STATE UNIVERSITY, Tempe, AZ, Sept 2014- Sept 2015

Assisted students with building regression and forecasting models in Minitab, JMP for undergraduate students

Helping students to understand the basic concepts of SQL, statistics by offering them one-on-one tutoring sessions

Assistant Professor, UNIVERSITY OF MUMBAI, India, August 2011 - July 2012, July 2013 - April 2014

Developed coursework for several courses such as Operations Research, Manufacturing Planning and control, Database Management. Increased the number of students passing these courses by 40%

Led a team of 15 mechanical engineering students who successfully developed an all-terrain vehicle for a Society of Automotive Engineers all India level competition where they finished 6th out of 110 participants all over India

Developed the running model of the All-terrain vehicle under budget by 20% and 2 months before the competition

Presented bi-weekly performance review of around 400 students to the Head of Department and Board of Directors

ACADEMIC PROJECTS:

Demand vs Forecast Variation Analysis

Developed a decision support tool to analyze the variation in forecasting of copper profiles using MySQL queries and Excel VBA forms and Macros.

Accomplished saving over 50 man-hours per month as the variation reports (actual demand vs forecast analysis) assisted management to make decisions on inventory control and efficient purchasing

Regression Analysis of English Premier League Data

Developed a multi-linear regression model to predict the number of points scored in a season. Checked for multicollinearity and Performed Principal Component Analysis.

Validated the model and predicted future observations. Improved R square by 10 %

Time Series Analysis and Forecasting of Global CO2 Emissions Data

Gathered monthly data for Global CO2 levels for 400+ months. Analyzed the time series data and interpreted seasonality and trend patterns of the data in Minitab

Created a time series Model and validated the model using the test data. Predicted the emissions for the next 24 months and validated the forecast model using test data by estimating forecast errors.

Data Mining: Predictive Modeling:

Given high dimensional Imbalanced data was pre-processed using SMOTE analysis (over & under sampling) in R programming.

Supervised learning classifiers like Decision trees, neural networks, support vector machines, ensemble methods were modeled and measured their performances based on false positives, false negatives and accuracy rates. Random Forest with decision tree classifier was selected as final model.

Business and International logistics plan for a Battery Distribution Company

Developed a business strategy and selected high potential markets for the Batteries using market algorithm.

Identified locations for the local distribution centers and designed the logistics with reverse logistics to maximize profits

using Python, MS Excel, AMPL

Bay Area Bike Share Analysis

Completed multiple visualizations in Tableau. Identified customer profile, including type, time and travel preferences. Recommended increase of bike stations in most popular areas which will increase scheme subscription
