Dear Hiring Manager:
I am responding to the job posting for the service position. I have attached my résumé for your review.
For over twenty five years I have been a certified Service and Installation Technician for seal-system refrigeration and air conditioning, and I am a Service Technician of all domestic appliances. I am very adept at electrical schematics and diagrams. I have worked on low voltage control systems
(24v), single phase and commercial 3 phase systems and have a sound understanding of electrical systems and machinery. I am a very detail-oriented person. I have worked in commercial building maintenance for about ten years. I was employed with C&S Wholesale Grocers in Brattleboro, Vermont for over five years in the maintenance department. My duties included repairing product shelving (certified welder, the original reason they hired me), working on lift trucks, pallet jacks etc. (all 36 and 72v systems). I also had other duties including replacing outlets, working on lighting, conveyors, etc.
Recently, I worked in property maintenance at the U.S. Naval Submarine Base in Groton, Connecticut as a Maintenance / Refrigeration Technician. I specifically worked at the Navy Exchange Department Store (NEX), the Navy Lodge Hotel, the Dolphin Mini Mart, the NEX Gas Station and the NEX Appliance Store. I performed many different tasks, as needed, in addition to refrigeration service calls which included electrical, lighting repair, minor plumbing issues, snow removal and painting. Through my many years in customer service, I have dealt with people from all walks of life at thousands of service calls. I've enjoyed that aspect of my job very much. I am a very patient and discreet person and handle all situations with diplomacy.
I am ready to move on to a different occupational trek completely yet remain in customer service. I think this position would be a perfect fit for me. I believe I would be an asset to your company. Please call me if you have any questions. Sincerely,
John Hurd
