Achieved significant improvement in network uptime during a period of explosive growth for the company leading programs that upgraded server quality, re-architected the switching network, offloaded storage to the SAN, and utilized higher end UPS systems to offset frequent brown outs.

Introduced many important IT policies and standards that included improvements in mailbox administration, password policy, security changes that significantly reduced malware incidents and network downtime by nearly 100%, and a retooled UPS policy that saved many thousands of dollars in unnecessary outages and hardware damage.

Routinely met with various organization stakeholders to determine their evolving needs for system and network services and to consolidate those services into a well-architected Campus support plan.

Provided expert technical leadership and support to the management and leadership team including working with the Accounting team to safely share and secure files, and troubleshoot Certiflex Dimension and MS Dynamics workflow. Also supported the Drafting team in efforts to reduce Autodesk workstation costs and improve performance, and collaborated with Engineering to identify a better software solution for their FEA (Finite Element Analysis) that facilitated complex modeling needs.

Spearheaded the efficient and scalable network infrastructure design of a new corporate facility that limited overall campus network issues, reduced costs by up to 90%, and expanded troubleshooting capability.

Played a significant role in the development of the corporate disaster recovery plan including selecting the Austin Texas backup site, promoting server virtualization and SAN backup strategies, and purchasing sufficient bandwidth which together provided the essential infrastructure to recover from any lengthy outage.

Improved overall security posture through proactive measures like introducing network filtering using Fortinet FortiGate and expansion of the use of Kaspersky tools to create a fully functional secure enterprise system.

Reduced license costs by hundreds of thousands of dollars by efficiently managing the server, workstation, and desktop licensing for critical software packages like AutoCAD, Genie, and GibbsCam which were essential for the work output of a team of 60 Engineers and Designers.

Demonstrated expert root cause analysis skills remediating a wide range of complex support issues including those relating to the availability of mission-critical CAD and FEA systems used by the Engineering and drafting teams.

Prevented a major safety issue by collaborating with network engineering to identify and resolve a cabling problem with the Axis camera system which monitored high load testing where no person could safely work.

Created a reservation file that prioritized the availability of licenses for key members of the engineering and drafting department improving productivity by facilitating the management of the Autodesk licenses.

Achieved certification on the sophisticated and high-cost Axis camera systems and designed and deployed an architecture that allowed managers and test crews to monitor critical jobs in real time from remote locations.
