Senior Design Project – Team Leader
Designed/built a modular rack system for our teams’ industry sponsor Total Facility Solutions Inc. As team leader I was responsible for organizing team/sponsor/faculty advisor meetings, keeping in constant contact with our sponsor, and making sure the team finishes deliverables in a timely manner. The design of the rack system utilizes mainly telescoping square tubing and custom fabricated ‘c-channel’ rungs that hold up the piping that is to be shipped. The team has finished building the two prototype racks within budget and presented them at our Senior Design Expo on 8/7/2015.
Computer Aided Design Project
Designed a World War II bomber plane using CREO Parametric 2.0 as a part of a group. Requirements included use of certain numbers of hermite curves and sweeps as well as a given budget corresponding to the total volume of the mechanism. Created the landing gear of the plane, which included the wheels as well as the landing gear required to connect them to the body of the plane.
Thermodynamics Project
Researched solar energy and wrote a proposal to a fictional company. Discussed how solar energy can be stored and later used by the consumer. Devised a fictional company that would utilize solar energy and created a proposal presentation for the class who were fictional investors. Having to create a PowerPoint presentation and pitch my company to a class full of investors strengthened my communication skills.
