Musculoskeletal Transplant Foundation, R&D co-op o Worked in the General and Plastic Surgery/ Wound Care group to optimize the method used to process acellular dermal allografts. Gained experience in tissue processing techniques, running assays, conducting various mechanical tests, and analyzing data. o Assisted with research on placental tissue, adipose tissue, and sports medicine products.
Musculoskeletal Transplant Foundation, R&D intern Summer 2016 o Created an automated dermal processing system using LabView and electromechanical actuators.
o Designed a mechanical testing fixture for more efficient suture-retention testing of soft tissues using Solid Edge. Arranged fabrication and completed testing of fixture. RELEVANT COURSEWORK:
BME Senior Design Spring 2016
o Designed and fabricated a successful prototype for an atraumatic, self-fixating mesh for laparoscopic inguinal hernia repair.
Biomedical Engineering Laboratory Spring 2016
o Member of a four person team that conducted various experiments, in a biology laboratory, using bioreactors.
