Project-4: CAW Data Extractor April 2015- Dec 2016

Role: Business Intelligence Lead

Project Outline: The corporate analytical warehouse (CAW) of this financial Institution receives all the Society data for all of its products from different sources. It encompasses more than 150 data marts which carry data for all the products including Savings, Mortgages, Treasury, Personal loans, Credit Cards.

As part of CAW data Extractor project, developed a generic ETL RRDS SSIS framework which provides sales product performance reports for Society’s new savings and mortgages products using SSIS and SSRS and SQL Server as database.

Responsibilities:

Worked with Business and IT stakeholders to understand Business Requirements and design DI specifications to fully meet requirements, ensuring adherence to development standards and Best Practices.

Gathered business requirements and creating architectural designs.

Worked closely with database developer and data scientist resources to optimize the solutions to user needs.

Gathered business requirements and converted them into technical design.

Project Outline: Firm Data Submission comprising of around 120 SSIS packages and SSRS reporting was built for reporting regulatory data to Financial Conduct Authority(FCA) for portfolios like Commercial, Treasury and Retail. SSIS is used to pull data and the database is in SQL db.

Responsibilities:

Responsible for the design, delivery, and maintenance of the of the physical database structure.

Reviewed, analyzed, modified, and created ETLs, utilizing SSIS, testing, debugging, integration and implementation processes.

Created SSIS Packages, Jobs, Alerts, SQL Mail Agent and scheduling SSIS Packages; transformed data from one server to other servers using tools like Bulk Copy Program (BCP), Data Transformation Services (DTS) and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).

Project Outline: CAW is a huge data warehouse which receives data from almost all financial Institutions and reports data to FSA (Financial Service Authority) every month. It is a highly critical application as the report is part of regulatory compliance so any delays could lead to 7 digits’ penalty. SQL data marts and SSIS packages are used for loading data in SQL database. SSRS is used for reporting which is primarily done by Financial Institution team and was supported by Infosys.

Performed various complex assignments without much supervision and carried out training for company and IT staff.

Created T-SQL Scripts, Dynamic-queries, sub-queries and complex joins for generating Complex Stored Procedures, Triggers, User-defined Functions, Views and Cursors for enhancements.
