Work Experience
Duke Energy (Contractor) 9/2011 – 10/2016 Contract Engineering Technologist
• Transmission System Standards and Design Automation Tools and Support (DATS) 5 years’ work experience
• Responsibilities for this role included substation equipment database standardization, prioritization, and consolidation, EAM (Maximo) data management and manipulation, and Compatible Unit (CU) development, creation, and implementation, including training package development.
• In performing these duties, I became familiar with standard substation equipment and their manufacturers, specifications, working conditions, and ordering and storage practices.
• This role also required a strong knowledge base of both P&C and physical design, which I was able to cultivate by working closely with several seasoned professional engineers.
• This allowed me to perform my duties while increasing my knowledge base around North Carolina professional engineering practices from both a physical and a P&C standpoint.
