NETWORK ADMINISTRATOR – Weldon, Williams & Lick, Inc. 1996 – Present; Fort Smith, AR

Leading international custom ticket and permits designer and printer in business since 1898 with 275 employees and $40M in annual revenues.

Install, configure and support enterprise-wide local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), Internet and network systems for 275 internal users and 800 devices. Monitor the network to ensure availability to all system users, perform regular maintenance and upgrades and troubleshoot and solve technology issues. Assist with network modeling, analysis, planning and coordination of network and data communications hardware and software. Administer network security measures and provide help desk support as needed.

Select Accomplishments:

Reduced hacking threats by improving network system security with two redundant firewalls including antivirus(AV) and intrusion prevention systems (IPS) and AV on all servers and PCs. Receive excellent results on annual security penetration audits performed by an independent firm.

Improved business continuity, cut operational costs and decreased system downtime by migrating company to a virtual environment by researching, proposing, purchasing, installing and configuring a six VMware server’s environment with 140 servers.

Enhanced storage solutions and increased redundancy while reducing the number of devices to manage by moving all servers from local attached storage to fiber-attached SAN storage, including boot from SAN.

Lowered large-file loading time for certain end-users from 15 minutes to two minutes and 25 seconds.

Condensed processing time and boosted productivity by freeing up desktops as the result of setting up a second server specifically to handle job queue processing.
