Sr. Manager – Latam Engine Design and Chief Engineer GSE

Responsible for managing engine design department and chief engineer responsibilities for GSE program. Responsibility includes regular reporting to senior management and overall GSE project responsibility. This is an expatriate assignment located in Belo Horizonte Brazil.

2008 - 2014 Chrysler Auburn Hills, MI

Manager – Stop-Start Micro Hybrid Programs

Responsible for managing the Stop-Start program and matrix organization responsible for integrating stop-start systems into the Chrysler product line. My responsibilities included all aspects related to stop-start including product strategies, implementation planning, functional and business objectives and results. Project responsibility includes regular reporting and financial requests to senior management.

2007 - 2008 Chrysler Auburn Hills, MI

Manager – Power Train Engineering Programs

Responsible for managing a group responsible for all Chrysler transmission engineering programs. My responsibility included creating, promoting and managing long term product strategies. This included being a member of the advanced transmission group task force, whose mission was to select the next generation automatic transmission for RWD applications. This started out to be a cooperative venture with Daimler and then later Chrysler alone and ultimately resulted in selection of the ZF 8 speed design for both internal and external manufacturing.

2005 - 2006 Chrysler Auburn Hills, MI

Manager – Heavy Duty Automatic Transmission Program

Responsible for managing the heavy duty 6 speed transmission program. This was a concept to volume production responsibility and included regular senior management level review. I had the responsibility to ensure that the product launched on time meeting or achieving all functional requirements and financial objectives.

2001 - 2004 Chrysler Auburn Hills, MI

Manager – Power Train Engineering Quality

Responsible for managing a department responsible for powertrain quality. The core responsibility was to provide a focus on understanding and improving powertrain warranty and customer satisfaction, and for providing liaison and communications between power train engineering departments and vehicle platforms. During my tenure as the powertrain quality manager overall powertrain quality improved 30%.

1999 - 2001 Tritec Motors Ltda. Curitiba, Brazil

Manager – Tritec Resident Engineering

Responsible for creating and operating the Resident Engineering organization for Tritec Motors in Curitiba, Brazil a joint venture between DaimlerChrysler and BMW. Resident Engineering provides on-site engineering support and liaison activities with DaimlerChrysler and BMW. This positioned offered the unique opportunity to see the engine design, for which I was responsible, through to production and to maintain that responsibility during the initial launch period. A unique advantage in that I learned first-hand the positive and negative impact the product design had in a production atmosphere. This assignment also provided the experience of being in Brazil and managing a workforce in a unique culture.

1997 - 1999 Chrysler Auburn Hills, MI

Supervisor – Joint Venture Engine Engineering

Responsible for engine design for a new four cylinder engine series. This was a joint venture with BMW and Rover, providing the engine for the Mini and Chrysler PT Cruiser. As a multi-company and multi-cultural directing design and development functions for a new engine program for Chrysler and BMW.

1992 - 1997 Chrysler Auburn Hills, MI

Senior Engineer – SCP Engine Engineering

Responsible for design and development of 4 cylinder engine components including: cylinder heads, valvetrain, timing drive, lubrication, cooling and sealing systems.

Married with 2 children. Active in motorsports, road racing and autocross. Viper Club of America board member as motorsports director prior to moving to Brazil. Avid golfer.
