RELEVANT PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE... Continued
Technician at 3M April – May 2014
Delivered products on time after running tests so functionality could be determined, and coordinated inventory and tasks completed across multiple shifts.
Assistant Technician, Go2IT Group, Various cities, Texas November 2013 – February 2014
Kept costs within budget after replacing a server, workstations, printers, and an uninterruptible power supply.
Inventoried materials and properly wiped hard drives so new software could be installed.
Computer Task Group and Sai Peoples Solution, Austin, Texas June 2004 – September 2010
Hardware Systems Test Engineer at IBM (Contractor) August 2009 – September 2010
Successfully maintained quality of IBM Power 770/780 medium-range servers by testing server hardware, network connections, as well as storage such as Double Data Rate (DDR) interfaces, Redundant Array of Independent Disks (RAID), and software configurations. Errors encountered led to creation of defect notices that were addressed at a daily meeting.
PowerPC Hardware Validation Engineer at IBM (Contractor) June 2004 – January 2009
Validated and benchmarked the CPUs of the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 consoles by running system tests.
- Ran tests in Linux shell scripts and Perl code, and used thermal solutions to ensure yield was
not negatively impacted by changes made to the test code in the fab.
- Used JTAG Debugger to do hardware troubleshooting of failures and BIST tests to cover memory.
- Did bring up and debugged boards. Looked at schematics to troubleshoot non-functioning boards.
- Verified logic with probes using the JTAG interface, PCI bus analyzers, and logic probes.
Hardware Verification Engineer, IBM Corporation, Austin, Texas July 2001 – February 2004
Maintained costs and increased efficiency in post-silicon testing 64-bit Power4/4+ microprocessors by setting frequencies, temperatures, and voltages to analyze performance characteristics. Also supported manufacturing test code written in Perl for the screening of the microprocessors. Kept control of budget by tracking results of manufacturing yields and diagnosing field fails.
- Sustained proper operation of high end IBM pSeries servers by verifying memory, CPU cores, and AIX level.
- Analyzed log files from manufacturing to validate failures on test servers as well as to identify trends.
