Managed scheduling, classroom training, and evaluating training effectiveness. Advised management with the creation of new training centers in Lakin, West Virginia and Convent, Louisiana. This greatly improved our training results with simulations in a controlled atmosphere where the new hires could be monitored closely.
Created the new hire training program for AEP. Researched and developed the program through best practices, industry standards and the input of river veterans. With an influence on employee safety, communication, work ethics and mutual respect for co-workers and management, the program’s success was soon realized in safety statistics, less behavior issues and improved the morale of front line employees.

Safety Representative, 2002-2006. Consulted and advised the manager of safety and compliance with company policies and procedure changes within river operations division. Conducted random compliance and safety inspections on company vessels.
