Project Summary
The project involved working on updating the FACETS Claims Processing System to handle a large number of claims with little change to the system framework for HIPAA 5010 compliance. Worked on the functionality related to 5010, HIPAA Gateway, and ICD10. Mapped the old system to the new one to route claims out to Gateway Systems, wich belonged to different payers, in the Facets database.
Conducted Business Process (As Is/To Be) sessions with various department directors and staff to ensure the testing Plan and Test Approach would meet the identified Business Requirements, and the Training Program covered all identified new and changed processes.
Analyzed837 and 835 EDI files including syntax and business rules for X12 HIPAA 4010 and 5010 validation for loops, segments, elements, qualifiers and code sets.
Processed medical claims (P, D and I) in FACETS and gathered requirements for integrating them into the FACETS front end and back claims processing system.
Performed User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for HIPAA 5010 projects including HIPAA requirements and compliance mandates.
Gathered requirements documents for transition from ICD-9 to ICD-10.
Incorporated Rational Unified Process (RUP) and analyzed User Business Requirement Document (BRD), Technical Requirement Specification and Functional Requirement Specification (FRS) using Doors and MS Visio.
Performed Gap analysis of the Business needs and Business Process validation, client requirements, generated work flow process, flow charts and relevant artifacts.
