Product : Google Maps and PAV Tool Testing

Tools : HPQC 10.0 and Buganizer, Mapmaker Index and Atlas.

Description : This product Google Maps is a web mapping service application and technology provided by Google, that powers many map-based services, It offers street maps, a route planner for traveling by foot, car, bike (beta), or with public transportation and a locator for urban businesses in numerous countries around the world, Google Maps provides aerial or satellite images and map tiles for most urban areas all over the world search places and can see different types of views in MFE,GMM and Tactile . Buganizer and Atlas tools are internal Google tools which stores all the information regarding the business listings that would be available and searchable on maps.google.com.

Responsibilities:

Understanding the Requirements and Functional Specifications of the application.

Participated in identifying the required Test scenarios for Buganizer and Atlas tools

Prepared and Executed Test Cases as per System Requirements for Google maps and Buganizer and Atlas tools

Performed various black box testing Methodologies Like Functionality testing, Compatibility Testing, Database Testing, Usability Testing, Retesting Testing, Regression testing and Server Log Files Testing.

Defect Reporting and Tracking using HP QC 10.0. And Buganizer and Atlas tools.

Taken ownership (POC and mentored the team of 20) of entire public transportation (Transit) as I have very good understanding on the feature.

3P Eval:

Google buys third party data sets for various countries. Before publishing it to maps.google.com we do detailed evaluations verifying geo-code accuracy, attributes compatibility with internal Google products.

Quantum GIS is used to visualize and do the analysis part on the data sets.

Shell script: Basic shell scripting for file conversions.

Accomplishments at Google:

Successfully lead team of 4 that has completed evaluations of ~150+ data sets and helped ops teams with various recommendations that helped to gain 10% saving in overall project.

With help from Eng. team, created dashboards and templates that helped whole team as well as Managers time.

Senior GIS Analyst:

Map Maker is a web based tool to edit maps and local data, after due moderation, the changes will go live on maps instantly eventually. Map Maker is a powerful tool to enable the User Generated Content (UGC) strategy for keeping maps data fresh and accurate.

Providing Google users necessary feedback on their edits on mapmaker.google.com.
