Summary

Having worked as a cytogenetic technologist in one of the largest and most famous genetic and molecular center in Iran, I have gained extensive experience and knowledge in various technical fields including:

Screening and analyzing the chromosomes.

Chromosomes structure and their functions and recognition of different mutations or any other structural problems.

In addition I have recently been assigned the responsibility for making a use of FISHE/HER2 technique which is used in diagnosing breast cancer.

I have also been trained to work in other sections of the laboratory such as harvest (Amnion harvest and blood harvest) and G-bending.

Key Skills/achievements

-Have been recently promoted to the team leading position with responsibility for supervising and training junior members of the team in cytogenetic techniques.

-Expert in cytogenetic techniques with responsibilities included:

oMicroscopic analysis of banded chromosomes.

oStudying the structure and function of the chromosomes.

oIdentifying human abnormalities such as Down syndrome, Turner syndrome, inversion and translocation and ….

oIdentifying diseases and genetic disorder problems.

oCapturing images on a computerized system and preparing karyotypes for final report

oUsing Leica software to prepare Karyotype for describing the number of chromosomes and arranging with the short arm of the chromosome on top and the long arm of that on the bottom.

oAccurate microscopic analysis of cell and ISCN.

oInterpreting karyotype results by using an appropriate iscn nomenclature.

oMicroscopy and chromosome analysis of amniotic fluid, NOR and C-BAND and CV.

oMicroscopy and Chromosome Analysis of Bone Marrow, Leukemic Blood, Lymph Node and Post-Natal Constitutional Blood Specimens.
