The Pearson Education has its data content managed in Livelink which is a Content management tool. Pearson is migrating all the data in different batches to another Content Management tool called DAM (Digital Asset Management).
I am working in this Migration project as QA special intermediate resource. My task involves fetching the data of Livelink through SQL developer tool. We run a standard stored procedure to fetch the Livelink content. Then fetch the data of DAM through Repoint. Repoint is a database tool specifically used to fetch the documentum data by running DQL (Documentum query language). Both the data is brought to a third database by creating and importing data in tables. The final stage is to compare the values.
My Roles/Responsibilities as a QA Special Intermediate resource:-
It is a two member team with a Lead onsite and I am handling single handed on offshore.
Analysing the Testing requirement and updating the test cases in excel.
Data comparison and logging the default or mismatch data in a defect management
tool called Teamtrack.
Preparing and executing the standard SPs for fetching the values of PAL and
DAM Database.
Doing sampling testing ex: comparing the Metadata of folders, files, content on
random basis.
Doing front end checks in case of data is unmatched before logging it to the
Migration development team.
Preparing daily test report for the Matched, Unmatched records and Unknown issues
and storing in SharePoint.

This is a core banking project. We have 11 different Strataweb banking applications. I am the Module lead of ‘The CAFÉ Strataweb UI team’ whose task is to test the integration of 11 applications used by SEI for 151 banks in Europe to a single application called CAFÉ (Customer access front end). This major task involved developing a new UI of CAFÉ which will directly access to different banks through a single user interface with variant login ids of banks that is created through LDAP server.
I worked as a module lead handling a team of 2 testers. My task started from the initial stage of testing from preparing Test plan and writing Integration test scenarios since it was majorly to the integration testing project. The testing of application involved to check all the functionality of old Strataweb application in the new CAFÉ application. This application has in total 31 reports related to customer accounts. Now to access the Strataweb application a user profile id is created through master application called SAM. This same user profile is then pointed through LDAP to access CAFÉ application server. Hence testing involves checking same functionality in old Strataweb application and in CAFÉ to find that the integration is done well.
My Role/Responsibilities as a Module lead:-
Analysing the Used case requirement, the business requirement and SRS and preparing test cases, test scenarios for both manual and automation.
Reviewing the updated test cases in Test Director.
Defect Logging verification done by the team members & Tracking through PVCS tracker.
Preparing, modifying and verifying the test data with the help of SAM application.
Security testing through SQL Injection, Session Hijacking and session prediction
Daily task distribution to my team members.
Reviewing the defect before priotize it before logging to the dev team.
Preparing Test execution report, defect report on daily basis and sending to client.
Monitoring the EPM time sheet duly filled by the team members.
