Operations Manager with over 20 years of experience in personnel management and maintenance operations in both the military and private sector. In the United States Navy, became proficient in deck seamanship and the loading and unloading Department of Defense cargo valued over $3M derived from conducting both domestic and global operations in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Bahrain. Military Sealift Command-Various Vessels-2007-2016

Able Body Seaman- Completed procedures for hull maintenance, repair, upkeep and sanitation of material. Maintained and lubricated deck equipment, watertight doors, hatches, covers, scuttles and other equipment. Prepared surfaces for painting selected and mixed paint, cleaned painting equipment and handled safely. Used knowledge of line handling which included ratios of line size to sheave size, rules for breaking strengths and safe working loads for wire ropes and fiber lines, staging of cargo, securing cargo booms and cranes.

Ship’s Maintenance Supervisor

. Supervised and trained over 40 junior sailors Operated a variety of industrial transportation equipment, such as cranes, forklifts, cherry pickers and or JLG’s, small craft operator up to 100 tons. Performed preventive and corrective maintenance on equipment in accordance with technical manuals and preventive maintenance schedule, including extended yard periods. Boat Shop-Maintenance and Repair Leader

Repairs wooden and fiberglass boats according to blueprints and customer specifications, using hand tools and power tools: Confers with customer or supervisory personnel and reads blueprints to determine repairs needed and plan sequence of operations. Examines boat to determine location and extent of defect. Cuts out defective area, using power saw, drills, and hand tools. Measures and records dimensions of defective area and lays out dimension lines and reference points on materials, using rules, straightedge, squares, and scribing instruments. Sets up and operates saws, joiners, planers, and shapers to fabricate repair parts. Positions and fits repair part in boat and secures part to boat, using caulking gun, adhesive, or carpenter's hand tools. Cuts fiberglass material to specified size and patches defective surfaces. Smooths repaired surfaces, using power sander. Installs fittings and equipment according to customer specifications, using hand tools and portable power tools. Hand brushes or sprays paint or other finishing solution on repaired areas and waxes and buffs area to specified finish.
