As a Stafford Act Employee for Region Ten I have been involved with the setup and operation of Disaster Field Offices in Region Ten associated with DR1499. This work involved the establishment of wired network facilities at multiple sites in Washington State. Also I provided on-going support for the staff supporting DR1499. This included desktop support, application support, server and network support. I am currently deployed to the Region Ten Regional Command Center. My mission is to evaluate, document and make modifications to the computing plant here at the FRC.

As Information Systems Manager I was responsible for the Global Information Systems operations of the company. PhotoDisc, Inc. has offices in Australia, Germany, France, London, Sydney, New York and Seattle. My responsibilities included management of a team of six help desk and systems administrators. The redesign and management of over 250 network workstations and servers connected via WAN in these locations. I managed the technology and budget aspects of these sites. PhotoDisc also staffs a call center of 100 product representatives. My team was responsible for the design and management of the Telephone, ACD and call monitoring hardware and software for this call center.

Under my direction the Information Systems Department of PhotoDisc, Inc. achieved a 99% satisfaction rating from feedback included with the request system which I designed and implemented. The technology portion of PhotoDisc. Inc. is generally credited with the increase in service quality and the Digital Image industries’ perception that PhotoDisc, Inc. is the technology leader in this industry.

PRIMUS COMMUNICATIONS, INC. January, 1996 – April, 1997

Information Services Manager

My position at Primus Communications consisted of designing and managing over forty diverse development servers. I was responsible for seven by twenty-four support for the engineering group and corporate user base. I have developed a corporate request management system utilizing the corporate Intranet as the interface medium with sophisticated management tools. I was responsible for the design of the corporate LAN and design and implementation of the Companies on-line network operation.

WORLDS INCORPORATED, Seattle, Washington November, 1994 – January, 1996

Director, Network Operations

Designed, Implemented, Managed the high speed, ATM Broadband network. The network consisted of multiple Ds3 connections to both private and public networks(Internet). Designed, Implemented, Managed an International on-line Internet based Multi-user, 3D Virtual Reality Operations facility. I also Designed, Implemented, and Managed the Starbright Children’s Pediatric Network. The Starbright Network, built for the Starbright Foundation chaired by Stephen Spielberg, is currently on-line in 30 major children’s hospitals across the US. My management responsibilities included operational management of the corporate network infrastructure and four corporate office locations. My responsibilities included development of overall network design and privately deployed networks. The Starbright Pediatric Network was the 1996 winner of the “Information Infrastructure Award”, awarded for the best use of “Infrastructure Technology”. The award was sponsored by the President’s Panel on Infrastructure Development.
