Edit and run JCL programs for the company using VSE operating system for the IBM Mainframe through BIMEDIT and FAQS/ASO.
Perform various tasks and/or problem-solving via phone, direct contact, or email.
Ensure various web servers are running correctly on the mainframe. Some of the web servers include TCPIP, CICSA, VSE2PDF, CRON, BSTELNET, and BIMEDIT.
Manage and problem-solve various virtual and physical servers.
Fix issues with zebra printers, IBM terminals, Linux and Windows thin clients, PSC barcode scanners, and IBM keyboards. Also, fix problems associated with the large computer screens with modules.
Solve issues with PC’s through physical contact or by remote connection through VNC that include but not limited to: vacuum PC’s, run malware and virus scans, add RAM, change out power supply, install processor and/or heat seek, install a new hard drive, fix problems associated with their email (Microsoft Outlook) or other applications, install applications on PC, add a network and/or local printer to a PC, etc.
Troubleshoot printers occasionally (minor problems like paper jam, bad cartridge, bad tray)
Have some network duties that include: add a new user on the active directory, add someone to a user group, change and/or create a new password on a user profile.
