Travel to customer’s location to setup and troubleshoot guiding equipment in steel mills, aluminum companies, copper companies and tire companies.
Guiding equipment is used for steering coils or rolls of web materials through a line an example of this may be a coil of steel run through a galvanizing line or a web of fabric through a calendar line. Guiding systems consist of detectors, controllers and either hydraulic systems or actuators to move rolls to steer the strip through the center of the line.
Most controllers are PLC based (Allen Bradley) which I troubleshot when necessary. I was responsible for installing the software, and setting up the parameters. I also checked all of the electronics including the AC drives and checking the hydraulic systems and made any repairs that were necessary. I statically checked the entire system prior to the line starting. After the line started I would fine tune the systems for optimal performance. Education
